Title: Most Common Errors and Issues - Liberty Unleashed
Post by: SugarD on September 23, 2014, 04:54:47 pm
Liberty Unleashed:

1. Problem: GTA is stuck in 640x480 resolution.
Solution: Load up GTA III single-player to it's main menu. Go to Options, then Display Settings. Adjust the resolution within this menu, and save your settings. Close GTA, and run Liberty Unleashed again.
2. Problem: I need the GTA III version 1.1 patch.
Solution: Download it here (http://updates.rockstargames.com/patches/grandtheftauto3/GTA3patch1.1.zip). Extract the patcher program from the archive, and place it in your GTA III directory. Run it, and follow through the steps it provides to patch your executable. When it is finished, delete the patcher program from your GTA III directory. Your executable is now patched.
3. Problem: Single-player loads up when I try to connect to a Liberty Unleashed server.
Solution: Close Liberty Unleashed and right click on the shortcut to it. Choose Properties. Change the "Start in" path to your GTA III installation folder, or to nothing at all. Apply the settings, click OK, and try connecting to a server again.

Multi Theft Auto: Vice City:

1. Problem: I am using MTA 0.5. I don't see any servers online.
Solution: You need to get MTA 0.5r2. It adds the External Server Browser, (among various other changes), which uses Game-Monitor to display servers instead of the now-defunct All-Seeing Eye service. Browse servers with this new server browser instead of the one built into the MTA client itself.
2. Problem: I am using MTA 0.5r2. I don't see any servers online.
Solution: Check the bottom of the External Server Browser. Does it say "0/0"? If so, Game-Monitor may be experiencing issues. You can still enter the server's connection information manually into the MTA client, and click Connect. The server listing may also be available for 0.5 and 0.5r2 online here (http://www.game-monitor.com/). The server listing may also be available for 0.5.1 online here (http://servers.projectredivivus.com/).
3. Problem: I am running a nightly build of MTA 0.5.1, and I cannot connect to any 0.5/0.5r2 servers!
Solution: MTA 0.5.1 nightly builds will only connect to their corresponding server versions. Argonath RPG does not use a nightly server, and MTA 0.5.1 is not released yet. Nightly builds are only meant for testing purposes, so please use MTA 0.5r2 if you wish to play in Argonath RPG, and on other 0.5/0.5r2-versioned servers. MTA 0.5.1 is not cross-compatible with 0.5 or 0.5r2, and will require server owners, and their respective players, to upgrade to it after it is released. Until then, do not use it for gaming purposes.
4. Problem: MTA says I am using a modified client! What do I do?
Solution #1: Set the MTA External Server Browser and the MTA client to "Run As Administrator" through their respective Properties -> Compatibility menus, if running the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System, or above.
Solution #2: Try adding the MTA External Server Browser and the MTA client to your Data Execution Prevention exceptions list. Some computers do not like MTA's programs running within DEP. This bug is also known to affect VC:MP, SA:MP, and MTA:SA due to the way they hook into GTA's memory.
Solution #3: Make sure you have no modifications installed to GTA. MTA has a very old anti-cheat system. It does not like cheaters in any form...even the unintentional ones!
5. Problem: MTA keeps disconnecting me for "Suspected Trainer Usage".
Solution: This is caused by one of two things. Either you are using a trainer and trying to cheat in the game, or you have something running on your computer that contains a keyword common to many trainers, such as the words "hack", "cheat", "blood", and a variety of others. Music in media players and web browsers containing these words, or even partial ones like "shack" or "bloody" can also trigger it.
6. Problem: GTA crashes at the loading bar screen when running it through MTA.
Solution: Make sure your "VC Version" is set to the correct version when running GTA through the MTA client. The wrong version can often lead to crashes caused by the wrong memory addresses being loaded. Modifications to the game can also cause this, as can unauthorized ".asi" files in your GTA's directory that should not be there, or are left over from older versions of MTA installations.
Title: Most Common Errors and Issues - Vice City: Multiplayer
Post by: SugarD on September 23, 2014, 05:10:47 pm
Vice City: Multiplayer:

1. Problem: My game freezes sometimes. How can I prevent this?
Solution #1: Don't fly too high with aircrafts.
Solution #2: Don't fly any aircraft if you have recently connected.
Solution #3: When you connect to the server, no matter what skin you will want, FIRST, spawn as CITIZEN. Then, if neccessary, login. After you login, wait a few seconds, then kill yourself using the /kill command, and spawn with the skin you wish.
Solution #4: Do not drive-by when you have frame limiter off.
2. Problem: My game crashes sometimes. How can I prevent this?
Solution #1: If you do not run FRAPS, do not instantly unpause your game after turning frame limiter off. Turning frame limiter off without switching to the Windows desktop (alt-tab or Start menu key) and then switching back to the pause menu may crash your game when you unpause.
Solution #2: Do not stay paused or alt-tabbed for a long time.
Solution #3: Don't blow up a car when you and a carjacked person are inside.
Solution #4: Do not alt-tab while on the class selection screen.
3. Problem: How can I avoid game glitches?
Solution #1: Avoid entering and exiting interiors multiple times.
Solution #2: Do not let others punch you while you are paused.
4. Problem: How can I avoid desync in my game?
Solution #1: Make sure your vehicle has completely stopped before exiting.
Solution #2: When you have a high ping, (200ms or above), and are shooting at another player, shoot in front of the character instead to compensate for the sync's delay.
Solution #3: When you have a high ping, (200ms or above), and are trying to ram another player's vehicle, drive in front of the vehicle instead to compensate for the sync's delay.
Solution #4: Do not use the replay feature.
Solution #5: While in an event that involves many vehicles, keep entering the vehicles to resync their position with other players.
5. Problem: How can I exit my frozen, full-screen game without restarting my computer?
Solution #1: Press the Start button, then press the "Windows Logoff" shortcut. After that, press Enter, and then log back on and you will see the taskbar. From this location use the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del or Ctrl+ Shift + Esc) to shut down Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas:

1. Problem: I get that message when I try to connect server, how can I solve this?
Solution #1: On your computer, go to the directory where MTA is installed (usually it is C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas 1.4). From here, go to the  mods → deathmatch → resources. There should be plenty of folders here, but only two are of our interest: argo_core and argo_mods. Try deleting these two and reconnecting back to the server.
Solution #2: Restart your router and try to reconnect.
Solution #3: Make sure you have 1.4 version of MTA. If not, update it by clicking this (http://community.multitheftauto.com/mirror/mtasa/main/mtasa-1.4.exe).

Solution #1: Ensure that you have the correct version of San Andreas: Multiplayer installed.
Solution #2: Ensure that you are not routeblocked and/or banned.
Solution #3: Ensure that the server is not offline.
2. Problem: My monitor turns off or goes black when I open Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or San Andreas: Multiplayer.
Solution: Delete your Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas settings filed. It is named "gta_sa.set".

Solution #1: Ensure that you have the correct version of San Andreas: Multiplayer installed.
Solution #2: Ensure that you are not routeblocked and/or banned.
Solution #3: Ensure that the server is not offline.
4. Problem: My game only loads singleplayer. I have Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 1.01 or 2.0.
Solution #1: Your game requires a patch that can be downloaded here (http://talidan.littlewhitey.net/gtasapatch.exe).
Alternative Link #1 (http://dedicated.janipewter.net/upload/gtasapatch.exe)
Alternative Link #2 (http://www.gtaforum.nl/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=67)
Solution #2: Update your DirectX drivers.
5. Problem: My game crashes while joining the server.

Solution #2: Replace your gta3.img file with an unmodified version.
Solution #3: Uninstall any modifications you have installed.
6. Problem: My mouse is frozen in-game, and my camera doesn't move.
Solution #1: Press the Esc button repeatedly while moving your mouse.
Solution #2: Press the Windows button + R, type "services.msc", and press Enter. Under Services, open "Windows Event Log". Set "Start Up Type" to disabled. Restart your computer.
Solution #3: While the game is running, open Task Manager, and click the "Details" tab. Find the game, right-click on it, and select "Set Affinity". Deselect all but one of the processors/cores, (if multiple are listed). Repeat this process every time you run the game.
Solution #4: Obtain a downloaded copy of "dinput8", and place it in your game's root directory.
Solution #5: Obtain a downloaded copy of "mousefix.asi (http://hotmist.ddo.jp/plugin/mousefix/mousefix.asi)" and place it in your game's root directory.
7. Problem: I can't see health bars while playing (Intel graphics chips).
Solution #1: Ensure that you have installed latest client of San Andreas: Multiplayer. It is fixed in version 0.3z R2 and above.
Solution #2: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
