Double-click that Volume icon on your taskbar. Go to Options -> Properties, and for me, choose Mixer Device from Audio output to Audio input, make sure you've chosen "Stereo Mix" and then click ok. THEN, make sure that none of the audio "thingys" are not as "muted", when that done, go back to Properties (Options), and now choose back to Audio output and click ok. Now you should be able to record sound.

1. I don't have Stereo Mix
2. All are unmuted, but it still doesn't work.

I tried all options Game Cam and other programs has..

Line-in
MIC Back
Microphone

Only Microphone works, all others does not capture the in-game sounds.

Well,

If you record sound with a program, choose with what the program has to record it.

Take fraps for example, it just asks you to turn on "record sound" and it will work...

Some other things you can try:

take out all audio/microphone cables and put them back in... restart computer if needed... See if it works

Or only take out the microphone and see if it works. It might be there are still old "drivers" from the old audio card on your computer, delete them or install new ones if neccesary..

thats all I know

There are some shit with sound recording ingame with SoundMAX audiocards and similiar to it.IF you have SoundMAX,buy a new audiocard, coz you wont make the sound recording. I have SoundMAX too,and its was also a reason to buy a new soundcard.(But not the main)

SOLUTION: Dell has problems with Windows XP support of Wave Out function, they chosen to disable it for all Sigmatel soundcards. They say I need to install their newest drivers while it still not solved the problem for me.

I buyed my new soundcard, I installed it today, now I gonna test if the Wave Out now works here.
