Title: GTA IV Illegal contents
Post by: Aragorn on December 04, 2008, 12:45:32 pm
Once again and for all Argonath players:

Portal will not support/allow any talks about illegal downloads, torrents, file share programs, cracks for GTA IV...
Any such contents will be removed from forums, continuously posting/advertising illegal content members will be banned from forums...

Respect the work of game developers and do not put Argonath into the criminal internet share sites list...
Nor Rockstar Games neither Argonath RPG have any connections to the pirate zone...

And, talking about NO-CD Keys, will be also seen as cracks, thats not illegal.
Using a no-cd crack is legal when u have the original version.

Are you going to go to R*'s office, and show the boss you have a original, not really..

No talk, full stop.

I understand, and if Aragorn dont allows it, I agree with him.
But I would just say, that when u have a legal copy, u can use a no-cd crack.

Sorry for start off-topic.

I suppose no-CD/DVD cracks are not forbidden to talk about, since there are some available even in the Argonath RPG site's download section.

I have one small little question as I have been yelled at for telling people to stop, I would like to know, is it against server rules to say it in game in a public forum of chat where all can see? For example, (This happened) can someone in SA:MP go in public and say "Anyone know where to find the new Razor crack for GTAIV?"

Just to confirm for other users, because I know it's not allowed already, but "is it allowed to discuss these things in-game, whether in public, local, PM, etc. chat"? I would like to see this added to the original post, because users claim it's allowed, or just ignore the rule, and I know personally from experience that it is not.

I think that PM's should be a private side of matter, therefor I suggsest Limitated chat about this kind of stuff in PM's.
In general, no links to torrents or sites, however, general discussion in pm's should be allowed.

But that's just me.

In a personal sense, yes, but users should not be discussing it ON the servers or sites regardless. Use MSN/WLM or Yahoo! IM for that lol...

Heads up to those who do, I believe PM's can be logged as well if the server hosts so choose...

Any public exchange of information regarding piracy or other illegal stuff is forbidden on Argonath. That goes for the forums, site and also for all servers.

I noticed the no cd crack was removed from your main website, and fraps? Well anyways, I don't understand why no cd cracks are banned as you're already linking to an illegal mod to the game....I'm just assuming here, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The No-CD crack was most likely removed because although in itself it is a legal way to help your game run faster, many abuse it so they can play with illegal copies of the game, which is more than likely why it was removed. As for Fraps, there could be many reasons behind that download link being missing now.

Under international law it is illegal to use a no-cd crack as they are an altered executable. Under R* and R*North's EULA you may not use an altered executable.
