Title: Good Graphics card?
Post by: Fuzzy on December 15, 2008, 09:12:21 pm
Hey, I am looking for good graphics card with PCI-E,  less than 200 euros. I was thinking of GIGABYTE Nvidia Geforce 9800GT: Link: (Finnish site, but I think u undertand the most important things ) http://www.jimmspc-store.fi/tuote/GV-N98TZL-512H?classid=4&groupid=22&subgroup=147

So if you have some other good ideas, please help me and post them here, Thanks!

9800GT is known to have SOME problems, a friend had one, it had some..

Get the new nVidia GTX 280 1GB Gfx Card, and then over clock it, if you have enough cooling, it works brilliantly and graphics in games are EPIXXX

its like 500 Euro's I think.

9600GT, GTX and GSO are good Cards, also the 8800GTX really gives the 9800 some Competition. Don't get a GTS or GS, they are the Cheap versions.

For GTA IV to play on Very High graphics Detail, you need 1Gb of VRAM (Graphics Memory). Try Ebay, I know they have some 8800GT Cards with 1Gb at pretty good prices :P

Also, look into ATi, even though in my opinion they aren't as good, I have heard the Latest HD Range are pretty good.

PS
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XpertVision-GF-8800GT-Super-PCI-E-2-0-1GB-256-bit-DDR3_W0QQitemZ200287215970QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Components?hash=item200287215970&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

This is the 1Gb 8800GT, it is Oficially Recommended by Rockstar Games for GTA IV. I myself have this card and it outperforms my 9600GT.

Nvidia 8600GT works great with GTA IV, GTA San Andreas and more games. And it is very cheap, it supports Nvidia Phsyx.

Both 9600GT and 9800GT re good, but if u have money u always can get GeForce GTX 280 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_gtx_280_us.html)  :D

Btw compare 9600 GT (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9600gt_us.html) and 9800 GT (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9800gt_us.html) and see which one u think is better..(check Specifications)

You should get http://www.jimmspc.fi/tuote/R-VGA150900F%2B (http://www.jimmspc.fi/tuote/R-VGA150900F%2B) as it runs every game that has been made so far. I have myself HD 3450 and it runs even Crysis but with low graphs :D Still waiting for new processor and when it comes I'll have:
ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2
HD 3450 in CrossFire
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3,0 GHz or AMD Phenom II 920
3072 Mb 333 MHz
570 Gb
Ace Raw Deal 620W PSU

And that should be enough to run every game, even GTA IV or Crysis.

Now I have:
Motherboard: Fujitsu Siemens MS-7293VP
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 1,8 GHz
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 3450 512 Mb
PSU: Ace Raw Deal 620W
RAM: 2x Samsung 512Mb 266 MHz
HDD: Samsung 250 Gb & 320 Gb

If you can afford it, just get the nVidia GTX 280.. it owns, I can play pretty much what ever I want with amazing graphics.. apart from minesweeper, my 8GB RAM and my GTX 280 is too crap for minesweeper ='(
