Title: SA:MP Poll: Combat Shotgun or Sawn-off shotgun?
Post by: JDC on December 18, 2008, 10:06:34 am: I've been noticing a lot of debate going on about this topic ingame, so I decided to make a poll. Combat shotguns or Sawn-off shotguns?

Combat Shotgun:
-Weapon for the skilled
-Two hands required to operate
-7 Shots can be fired before reloading

Sawn-off Shotgun:
-Weapon for those without gun skill, and Dmers
-One hand required to operate each rifle
-2 Shots can be fired before reloading (each gun)

the only thing on deagle is that you need skills, if you got skills you use deagle, if you are a no-skiller you use shotguns
so personally i only use deagle, it pwns, im a good shooter with deagle

Its the best weapon for close range if your pretty good at aiming (or not so good)

Combat shotgun:

-Fairly fast shooting speed
-Mid Power
-Close Range
-Much bullets... Reloading not so many times

Normal Shotgun:

-Normal Shooting speed
-Mid power
-Close range
-Enough bullets... Reloading takes not so much time

Deagle:

-High power
-Normal Shooting Speed
-Long Range
-Enough bullets... Almost no reloading needed

Deagle would be the best for it's price. But I choose combat shotgun because I like it more than sawn of shotgun. One bad point: cant run with it

Anyway, my opinion on shotguns and deagles:

Combat shotgun:
   Semi automatic
   7 shots
   Medium range
   Not effective at long range.
   Ideal for SWAT / FBI in close quarters combat.

Regular shotgun:
   Single shot (have to cock at every shot)
   Low range
   Ideal for SAPD to carry in squad cars and criminals.

Sawn-off shotgun:
   4 shots before reloading
   Low range
   Ideal for people with absolutely have no skill and want the job done quick.

Deagle:
   7 shots in every clip
   Medium range.
   Takes people down quick.
   Inaccurate at long range. (If you're lucky you can actually hit something at long range)
   Slow rate of fire
   Not very good on people who lag.

So in all... for patrol I keep my uzi for laggy people and to use to drive by shoot people's tires, and deagle for runners and of course to return fire at combative armed suspects. And for big shootout situations with heavily armed suspects.. I go and buy a combat shotgun or M4.. depending if its close quarters combat or long range combat.

about the deagle stuff of you,
medium range, dont think so, deagle got a far range, not much guns will beat deagle on range
slow rate, mmm it shoots pretty fast, certainly not slow
not good on a lagger, thats true, thats the only really bad point on deagle,
against a lagger ur a dead men, at least im, since i dont lag(54 ping)

inaccurate on long range, well that depends on your skills, good sight u can easily take them out...if none lags

SAWN OFFS!! (Though I would love if the SA:MP team would make it and the other dual wield weapons single wield. Much cooler.)

BTW, why is it lame? Because it packs a shitload of damage and you rarely win a fight against it? I mean, come on.. It IS good. Combat shotgun IS good, too!

Very slow body movement when you hold fire. In order to avoid opponent's attacks, you need to handle it like the stubby shotgun in MTA VC.

Deagle :

Reasonable range
When it hits, it can chunk off some health from the opponent. However, deagle's striking spot is only a pin-point. Ie. the surface area of contact is very small. This means it's very hard to use against a lagger, or someone running around you in circles.

I prefer combat, beacuse, although stubby shotgun has a low rate of fire unlike the combat, combat works like the stubby shotgun in MTA VC.

But Deagle is just the best.. in whatever reason, if people also will use an weapon in the same category as the Deagle, it would be fair and also fun!

I hate people who uses Sawn-Off guns, kill cops and then says "PWND!! looser!" and shit like that... I more call them noobs.
And I also disagree with people that says we don't have skills to hide and something. but ones you see an Sawn-Off and see's it too late, everyone knows that when you get hit, that you get frozen, which means 4 shots in 2 sec while 1 sec frozen is enough to kill someone.

This discussion was much made in the admin section, and Aragorn and Gandalf will do something about this, they also agree this weapon is "too noob", and will take action.

Well, remember, when we all have an Sawn-Off, then it's fair.. UZI vs Sawn-Off = fair!!! Poor UZI get lost in 4.0, so that means the cops more complain. :(

why deagle really is a weapon for real guys?
you need skills, it isnt easy to use it good,
any shotgun doesnt need skills to be used good, so its easy and not really for a guy

i dont like uzi, only drive by is good, aiming isnt good too and power same story

Now it takes some skill to use combat, because it has a delay to every shot like the deagle where as the tec9, uzi and combat u just run around and aim against the lag hoping to get a quick kill and takes no skill what so ever. Every time I see a ARPD using tec9 is really disappoints me as well.

Yeah, you spray the living shit out of people hoping at least some bullets will hit :P Btw shouldnt this weapon be the strongest against laggers?
Other people seem to hit me with all their bullets while Im not hitting with any.. But thats probably because of my suck ass close combat skills I guess

From what Ive seen, the pump action shotgun takes almost as much damage and has the same fire rate as the deagle..

Anyways, I shouldnt be here talking about which gun is good and what gun is not.. :lol:

Sometimes, we have to use it because Suspects have very heavy weapons such as M4 or Combat Shotgun. Also, we use it when we cannot afford ammunition.

Sawnoffs are for people who want the job done quick, like Chase said. Maybe hitmen or something like that, but yeah some people use them for the sheer fact that they can potentially kill in 4 shots.
