Only about a quarter currently built, but if anyone is interested, in a week or two when it's finished I'll be happy to post pics. Current setup is mostly partially-modified HP Pavilion or some crap....motherboard/Processor was decent enough to tag a few parts into. As you can see to what its being upgraded to, its going from Intel machine to AMD/ATI lean machine (Thanks Kerr for the heads up on ATI and AMD, forgot about that ;) ). Whole project's bill comes close to $1,000 USD in new parts, but it's going to be a lot cheaper then anything similar on the market today. I'll be off and on in Argonath do to re-arranging room and preparing transfers from PC to PC (Tho the hard drives'll be staying intact.) I'm not sure if the Asus CrossFire board has an onboard display output, but if it does, I'm going from Dual-Screen LCDs to Tri-Screen D).
Give me some feedback on my current config and soon-to-be config.

-
HOLY SHIT man ur computer is hooked up u cant plug that in a surge can u?
-
:D My beast in nestled in a corner, so I have access to 4 Wall outlets total....The ENTIRE setup (including internet and router) takes up... 9 plugs total I believe? I have 2 6-outlet surge protectors bringing it all together nicely. :) Needless to say, makes for a high electric bill.
-=V=-
-
I have to say that I've had only bad experiences with Maxtor: Go with Seagate.
-
As far as my expierence goes, HDDs are HDDs....never had a real brand preference with 'em. By the time they wear down, I'm sure I'll be stocking up on TerraByte HDDs....
Besides, my money's already tied into Maxtor ;)
-=V=-
-
yeh but come on, 8 years D) D)
True, but thats ALOT of valuable programs (Alot of download time Mwahaha)
@ -=V=-
Sweet, np bout the heads up. Dam ******, send me some of those harddrives. i really need to bac my programs (*download time) up again :D Glad to hear you took my advice on the brands to use ;)

Whaaatt theeee fuuuuuucckkkk
Valedious, consider playing some better graphics-games, I would CERTAINLY do that if I had your computer.
Try Gothic III, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Oblivion, on highest graphic level.. and report in about them D)

@ Jelles: Hey, I'm old school Diablo guy to the core. Even if I had the new Quad-Core processors in my PC, I'd still play great games like Diablo, SNES Roms and GTA:SA. It's not about the games, its about the people there.
@ John Taylor: Weren't you the one saying that you hate people that brag? Sounds like you're bragging over your input.... XD You know i appreciate it ;)
@ Everyone else interested: Purchased the Case/Power Supply/Cooling System (Might upgrade to UV Liquid later) and the 2x ATI Radeon X PRO 1650's today....total bill came to just over $300....next Thursday'll be the Motherboard/RAM purchases, then the week after that will get the final piece; the CPU.
Strangely enough, there had been reports on TV about "If you're going to buy a new computer this year, do yourself a favor and wait a little longer, there's about to be a major upgrade of all systems."
My advise? Go on eBay and search for "Quad Core". Intel's recently release a 4-core processor, somewhere around 2.4Ghz a piece.
Insane.

You'd have to get a really good graphics card to do PS3 graphics, lol!
Or you could have a shit computer with a £15 video card and run your PS2 through it. Graphics may not be as good however you can still play online on PS2 and wont take up CPU. ;)
You can get a HDTV outputs but they are costly, and wont necassarily improve graphics to PS3 standard- and so far i dont believe you can emulate so no point ;)
I prefer not to spend loaaads on a PC. Mine only cost £500, it does the job, only prob since christmas i have used up the 250gb hard drive so i need another one...

Computer is my life, so I try to make my life the best. So, I upgrade, modify, etc. constantly. I wouldn't be surprised if I have a super-computer 5+ years down the road...

Wtf is that?
-
Indeed, using it now. aint enjoying myself, it looks cool. but its pure crap.
If you do not know how to use it...
I agree Vista is too complicated for the most of users...
-
It's not the difficulty of Vista what makes it less better then XP, but the performance in (all) games. Some (older) games even don't work at all. And I can miss the Aero interface and the sidebar, that's why I'm going back :)
-
They released Vista WAY too soon... :/
Too many damn bugs...

cant Post shop because there is none, my Uncle got it cheap because he works for that company.
No Argument, I will not be posting here again ok?
Cya all later
Ok,but still i dont belive you.
-
My Uncle gave me the OS (Vista Ultimate is the only one that recognises the 32Gig) for me and he is a programmer so he must have increased the RAM recog or something but its true.
it has 8 Ram slots and each has a 4Gb DDR3 Stick, each of these was AU$39.95 from the company that my uncle works at (Beacon IT)
wtf... You got 32GB RAM?????
What in the world will you do with that??
-
I dont know what I will do with it :D but it gives one hell of a boost :D
Those who don't believe, it is not my concern what you choose to believe :) No Offence or anything but it doesn't really matter to me whether other people believe it or not, its my PC so they don't have to believe it to make it work :) .
Please don't post about this again, this topic was not meant for argument and I don't want one.
Thanks Guy's,
Cya

ShaunSforza
Oh Yeah, only Vista uses the full 32GB of RAM, XP Pro uses 8Gb, XP Home and Media use 4Gb, 2 Linux use 4Gb Each, mus be a limit in each OS.
Sorry, but there is no motherboard that support 32Gb DDR3 RAM, 32Gb DDR2 is possible.... And it makes your computer slower if you have too much RAM...
9600GSO and 9800GTX don't work in SLI, nice try.
Two PSUs wtf man?
