Title: Sony Ericsson w920
Post by: Ifinity on January 03, 2009, 09:06:29 pm
Well, I just bought a sony ericsson w902. And I have updated it and everything. A 8gb memory card was included. Now when I'm trying to transfer songs to the cellphone it says "No memory card is in the cellphone" (translated to english). Does anyone know the problem of this and maybe, the solution? Help is much appreciated!

1)Did you put that card well in the phone? 2)How do you transfer songs? Via Sony Ericsson Suite program or just with copy/paste from the PC?

Connect that phone with the PC and wait till you get notification it is connected well..Than just open drive of that mem card in My Computer and pick some song from your PC, copy it and paste usually in the MP3 folder (can vary from phone to phone) which is located in that drive, and see what will happen..That is how I put songs in my Sony Ericsson.. ;)

The problem is, that when I try to do that all I can see is the "Phone memory" map. And not the memory card. And it also says that I dont even have a memory card! How sick is that? Anyway, calling support tomorrow.

Well yeah, most likely your mem card is damaged or something when you cannot see it at all..

I'd love to say the same, but I can't.

I had the same problem with my sony erriccson like a month ago, I just went to buy a new card as I got sick of taking the card out and putting in it all the time with no succes..

a 8G memory card is maybe the cause of this problem. - as the mobile phone can be weak to run it (not sure about it )

well as i know on my k750 i can put max 4G. memory card in it, so it doesnt lag.

And why the hell its crap ??? i got my k750 for 3 years now and no problems at all...

in a part it depends on the owner of the mobile and how he acts with it  ;)

What memory card you got there ? Pro Duo ? Micro SD ? any other ?

Did you try to format the Card? It can be that the card may be corrupted, neither then it should prompt to Format the thing.. If not, try to format it yourself.

How do you format your memory card?

Put it into your Computer, After that you right click on the volume, you can choose the Format option.

Then you can format it as FAT or FAT32... I prefer FAT32, And choose a proper Volume Name (Removable Volume is Standard name if you don't pick one yourself)

Now also choose the option to Quick format, as you a normal format can take ages.

After that all happened a dialog message should pop up saying that the format was completed succesfully.

And now the Ericson should reconize it.

Good Luck  ;)

Why wouldn't it be able to have a 8GB card when it included with the whole cellphone? Try reading the whole story next time, eh?

Believe me.. Manufacturers can do stupid things... So it can be very good that Vladimire is telling the truth.. Try with another card of less memory capacity.

Yeah, higher capacity cards could cause more problems, try a 2 or 4gb card and see if the problem persists.

You're all wrong :p

You've been given what is technically called, a "Dead" card, the recepticles on the card do not work, just take it to the shop and tell them the cards fucked :p

And Anto, I have never had a problem with a sony erricson except freezing, on a two year old phone, once :p
