Title: Protest || Corrupt Government & Change.

There will be a protest taking place to try and force the government to change the way it operates. I encourage everyone to come and fight for your rights.
If this protest is sucessful, we will have the possibilities to do more of what we want when we want.. If you want the state of Argonath to be the State YOU want it to be, join the protest..

The ARPD has also been informed so they have nothing to complain about.
Information:

If the SAPD decides to use force to remove us, we will not tolerate it and will defend ourselves accordingly.

Just to make me assured that you are coming, please fill out this application forum. The application form is only to tell me that you will be coming. You do not have to fill out the application form, you may just jump in the protest.

I take care of anything to do with ARPD. If they want to know that, they can ask me on the ARPD forums. Not you, the Captain/Chief.

I hope that you are aware that ARPD can and will use non-lethal and (if necessary) lethal force during protests should the protest ever get out of control.

I would love to participate but i still don't understand what it is for. I get the 'for argonath to change' part but, change in what policies? Please be more specific.

The same questions came to my head when I read this announcement.
In fact, I'll probably will make part of the protest, but need to know the exact objectives that we have on doing this.

This protest is ILLEGAL under Argonath Law..

SAPD must be notifed 5 days in advance.

Since topic raised on 2nd and protest on 4th this is just 2 days

Actually SAPD HAS to be told all, short notice and lack of required information means as such any protesters can be arrested under state law INSTANTLY.

SAPD will be deployed in force..

You break the law we WILL respond and since its an ILLEGAL protest ANYONE in that protest is an INSTANT criminal.


Also mixing OOC with IC is unwise as this protest seems to be ALL about OOC..

To me it seems ALL about IC, I do not see what politics has to do with me not playing...

As far as I remember... Argonath is not a dictation, although it might seem like it, but I really doubt we would want anyone else as our "leaders" so to say, then those we already have.

Worked great..., ten protesters at the start, half of them left under threat of ARPD and the rest got arrested and brought to a temporary custody at unity station. I don't know what happened to the other protestors, but I got beaten up for telling the truth and shot by a SWAT member with a M4. Not very successful. I got suspected for trespassing when I stood on the stairs of City Hall, which in the end led to my death. Other than that, great protest, it would be cool if they spent some time listening instead of beating the crap out of the protestors with a nitestick.

Also, the organizer, Wash, wasn't there...

  I think that it was a pretty tame protest and involved some good cop RP.

If you want something to complain about, go protest in front of Fort Carson PD about human rights and corruptness and see what happens   :redface:  :D

Ps. I was RPing government at the time, should have gave me a call if you wanted some citizen complaining RP

I do, Honestly all Ron and Gandalf do other then scripting is come in game for like a half hour and do a party or something.
They hardly ever reply at any Argo forums, i Think Goverment should be people we vote for, who are active and post commonly on the forums.

Well, I did this IC and not OOC, and that's why I called the cops "Corrupt bastards" or "Moneyhungry assholes". I wouldn't say that OOC to those people. However, even though I didn't do what the SWAT told me to, which was to sit down in a corner all day, killing me with an M4 and beating me up with a nitestick is maybe a little overkill when my crime was "Trespassing" at the City Hall. Also, what makes this time different than other times? Just because it's a protest, it shouldn't prohibit you from walking up the stairs or going inside City Hall. They claimed it as their property, and everyone who came near got a punch from the nitestick.

I don't know, maybe I didn't see that they had no will to discuss the matter what so ever, but at least I think they overreacted just the slightest by killing a citizen when he didn't obey the SWAT because he was suspected for walking up the stairs of City Hall. But, what do I know, I'm neither a law-writer nor an ARPD chief, so I guess I have no voice to speak. Atleast it didn't seem like it at the protest today.

That's exactly what he's saying, because lets face it, if the power went just to the people hell would've broken loose. Look at the SA:MP Ideas topic, are you looking? Good. Now you'll probably see some stupid idea among the pages but you'll see allot of people just posting "Support!", now lets say "Support!" is a vote for yes.. and so on you would have a new script or significant ingame wich everyone would think were 'good' for like a week but turn out to be.. crap. The death of the server would be a matter of time. There is a reason why 'they' are in "charge".
Note that I am one of the "people" I was talking about and I still share CBF's and mores opinion.

ARPD is not law makers, they are there to assist to make sure the law is followed, Guide and help citizens.

Even ARPD officers breaks laws sometimes :rules:

Yea I get you're point but isn't a part of the Goverments job to pass through ideas (wich is partly what scripters do, therefore I believe they should stay as Goverment) and laws, and democracy being the right to vote, weigh the two together and you've got my former post. If this is not what the Goverments job is, what would "your" Goverment do?

And their is no need for name-calling, it pisses me off and I could've done the same, but I wont.

A democracy is not where people who shout the loudest get what they want.
As our absence has shown, Argonath is by no means ready for a democracy.

We still care, like we have always cared.
But we do not care about powergaming or metagaming, as its not in our vocabulary and never will be.
This is why we are keeping to our rules and our principles, as we have seen imprisonment anly works for those wihtout the ability to think for themselves.
