Title: Legitimate Modding Question
Post by: Vaeldious on May 09, 2007, 02:38:50 am
So I've fallen into an extreme modding addiction to SA, and have been applying and downloading mods. Only problem is I gotta switch out files before playing SA:MP.

Which brings me to my question:
I understand that the No. 1 rule on Argonath is
Quote
Argonath RPG SAMP Rules
- NO CHEATS, NO MODS, NO HACKS;
However, I have some mods that I'd like to have with SA:MP.
1) Detailed Radar Mod (Hi res Aerial Photograph Map and Mini-Map)
2) Plant Texture Upgrade (Hi res Grass/Tree textures)
3) Gas Station Mod (All Gas stations with Exxon/Shell etc skins)
4) Texture Mod (Hi res Blood splatter, water, moon, and Halogen Headlights)
5) Numbers Mod (Customizes the font for Time and Money on player)

Now since all of these mods are purely cosmetic in nature, and not a single vertex is out of place, are they legal to play with on Argonath without fear of being banned? By no means do they give me an unfair advantage, just trying to bring back life to hi-res SA.

Any and all admin feedback is greatly appreciated, and until I recieve a CLEAR word from one of the Uber-Trinity Admins, my version of SA for MP will be completely original.

Thanks

We are trying to follow the official rules of SA-MP.

The basics questions are :
Did it come with SA ?
Can you create it with SA-MP ?
If the answer is no to both questions, use it at your own risk.

If using something out of these limits has no consequenses that admins can see, you might get away with it. But remember that no consequenses include things like lag. We do not visit the house of players to see if they use only the basic install.
If using graphics changes makes you lag or causes glitches, you should know to remove them instantly.
The basic advise is to have a double installation, to be sure you can use one that is without any changes if the other one starts to glitch.

Read from this what you want, according to the strict interpretation of the rules we have to say: no. ;)

To Gothem: Out of respect for the server, sorry, I will not publicly disclose where I got the mods or how to use them. However, if you add [email protected] to your MSN, I'd be happy to tell you all about my single player mods.  D)

And a few home made ones.

If you dont tell us, and you dont brag, you can use them. "We will turn the other way, if we dont know your using them hint hint"
