So, i got a new gfx, Nvidia Geforce 9800gtx... I installed new drivers and its ok, the problem is that in almost every game except Wow and Samp it crashes after the game's graphics is fucked up..
Let me explain more..
Im playing Far Cry 2 or GTA IV, for about 5 mins its all fine, then graphics start to mess up and then it freezes. then i need to restart pc or alt+f4 on the game
Do you know what may cause that problem?
Also some friends told me that after installing new gfx you need to format your pc.. is that true?
-
was old card ati?
if yes some parts of drivers were left, so yes best solution is to reinstall windows
-
yes my old gfx was ATI, but are u sure its gonna fix the problem?
-
90% yes
try before to check power connector to gpu

What is the strength of your power supply? For minimum requirements you shouldn't have less than 500W if you want that graphic card to work without problems..
-
i changed power supply too.. I got 500w now, is it ok?
-
Check the graphics card's power rating. You need a PSU that can give out a balanced amount of power and match the power rating of the graphics card at the same time. I'd recommend getting a 700W PSU to do the job.

I dont think that the problem is the power supply.. My brother had 9800gtx with 500w power supply and was working fine

Everything installed correctly? As cDa said, I suggest formating HDD
-
no, do not format the Drive, rather go and look for ALL your ATi drivers and remove them, then try reboot, after that, make sure your nVidia drivers are working and tryout a game to see if it is ok.. if not, your GPU might be overheating somehow, but i doubt that would happen.
ive never needed to format and reinstall windows after putting a new gfx in.. so i dont know why some think you must do it...

Got the same card, did you connect the power to the card ?

Got the same card, did you connect the power to the card ?
well it is connected, well im sure, since he said he can play some games.., no games will work if the power is not connected, ive tested it before, accidentally :D when i was working on my rig... but what could be the issue, the plug may not be in completely??

As i said, my old power supply didnt got that cable.. i changed to a new one with that cable and connected it,, before that i couldnt even turn on pc..
So now its evrything ok except that current problem
