Hey guys!
I just checked my mail, and strangly.. on my gmail account, I got this mail from [email protected]
It says this:
Dear Paul We have see you almost everyday on Gta San Andreas MP. So i have ask the Company for something that we have almost never done. Do you want Gta 4 We can send it to you via Holland. For free only if you still a real GTA Fan. Yes : Mail Me , No : Mail me not Have a nice Day
Ok, now I am very curious... How they know my name "Paul". maby because the e-mail adress contains my name.. but even more worse... How do they know I am from Holland?!
Have you guy also got such mail? I am now very curious...

Im beginning to think its someone playing a prank, but the email adress is the question.
..Meh, well first thing is this is definatly NOT Rockstar Games. They dont send out emails like this, why would they. They are about making money, not giving away their games for free.
But, I think this is a prank by someone you know who also plays SAMP, as they know you play also.

It is your IP getting checked, You get that stuff in Advertisements to like (Free Car Tryout in Belgium ) --> How the heck it knows i'm a belgian?
Maybe you have an X-fire profile linked to your e-mail?

X-Fire... ofcourse! Forgot about that... I don't know if that is the cause..
And uhm... I never fulled in a e-mail in such advertisments, so they cannot know that I play SA-MP. I think it's just the way Miami said it..
A friend who I know also got it, we both are registered on the website www.gtaforum.nl, so I think it comes from there... or.. just from Argonath RPG, but he never joined the server or knows it he said (I showed it him one time before I got admin)

I mean who it REALLY came from. As they obviously are using a cloak or cover etc.

You probably registered an account somewhere and gave them your name by mistake (or not?), otherwise they couldn't send you that..
In the future be smart and don't give away your personal info if you know that those sites are not trustful enough.

Every single time you connect to a website, your IP address shows up and it could be shown to a lot of people. Those people, obviously made a program that traces your IP (by IPtracker for example) and shows the information to them.
Having in mind that you probably placed your real name somewhere and had hours of played GTA:SA MP time in X-Fire, it would be quite easy to link all of this and just send a random e-mail...
My advise: do not reply, or write to them from a hidden email to go somewhere and blow their head off or grow up. ;)

This is an attack from spammers. Never open emails like these. CNN has declared that email viruses/trojans are becoming popular these days with hackers. Just delete it right away the next time you get something like this. Regardless of who sent it, it is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which basically "burns" the whole hard disc C of your computer.

The only forums I am registered with this e-mail, and where I am active is Argonath RPG, Paruni and Las Venturas Playground... These servers (except Paruni, but it's part of Argonath RPG, so why should I not trust them) are offical servers from SA-MP, so.

Why would Rockstargames type "GTA" with non-capital letters. (And not type it out) Kinda nails it, IMO :P

Look at the Offical GTA Fansites and the Emails (GTAPlace has alot) Rockstar send them you can easily compare and see it's a Fake.

I checked it with Gandalf, and one thing is sure. Some dutch guy did it, that is sure.
I have some people in my mind who can do this. (from Argonath RPG.. in other community's I am not active or known)
My e-mail adress is also abused by sending things in dutch to unknown people (maby their friends) asking if I can meet them....
A friend of mine who is on the MSN contact list also got this e-mail, which may guess two things:
1. he did it
2. I got hacked in my MSN account too
