Title: Games And Grades
Post by: Fabio on March 02, 2009, 10:56:39 pm
Strangly enough, and I dont understand why this happens, I play loads of games, and hardly revise, and somehow I just come out with great grades in real exams, I dont know what happens, it just magiclly always happens, what you guys think it might be, because i play loads of games, and a little bit of revisision. and still my grades come out high.

I don't study at all, I play games, play sports & fool around with my friends, I get nothing lower than a B- on tests/quizzes. Your ability to remember things could be one of the main 'causes' of this. You might be able to remember something you learned in class more clearly than some others.

Maybe the school is too easy?

The 'school' cannot be too 'easy'.. the school is only a 'centre' where the students take the test. The school has nothing to do with it, apart from the quality of education the school itself provides for these examinations which are given by specific exam boards.

Now that I don't understand, how do you revise for a math test. I can understand History, Geography, Psychology, because in all those subjects as many more like it you have to know the facts, but Math's? Mathematics is based on logic, either you have one, or don't. Like you can't forget how to calculate 2+2, 2*2, 2^3 or LOG 2, as all this is based on logical thinking.

Thats cause you dont fool around in school and you listen to teacher i think. All i do is fool around play cards do shitty things in my lessons and i dont learn anything, later when theres test i look up pages and just open my book middle of lesson and check there.

By, revision, I meant, re-visiting old lesson pages, where I am tought how to work out stuff, so I know what to do on a test..

I did that test today, went alright, i suppose..

For the people that never revise and succeed in all tests, I think it is inevitable for that their talent in doing that will run out, I see it all the time. I have mates who are naturally smart but take advantage of it and never study, nearly all end up as bums and it's a shame.

There is a saying, i don't think it's an Irish saying but it is " Success never comes before work, except in the dictionary." I wholly agree with this.

Jubin the best way for studying math, in my opinion; is to study past papers. But i am very bad at math so don't rely on it too much :P.

For Math I usually study the formulas. Algebra is easy, but Geometry pisses me off. I even try not to play to study. Works most of the time.

Oh god...not you too! I'm sick of hearing the words "past paper" now... Plus the real exam could be totally different from past exam papers.
