Title: New Windows Live
Post by: Cr4ig0 on March 20, 2009, 07:51:59 pm
I thought it was just Messenger but it turns out it's about 20 other programs that i really don't need and have no idea what they do or how to work them. My MSN settings are now all default again and the look is... confusing. Personally i think Windows have fucked up big time with this shit. What are your views? Begin Discussion.

Well, I was a little torn wether I liked the new MSN or the old one, but, after using it for a while, it sorta grew on me, and I like it now, I know were everything is, and, well, its just a better version of the old one.. It rocks.

They don't force you to install the other programs, so if you don't need them, don't install them.

My MSN settings are now all default again and the look is... confusing.
Well, it's a radically new version, so it's no surprise that you start of with the defaults, but where is the problem? Don't you know how to go to the options and customise the Messenger? About the look, you become more familiarised with the interface and such, the more you use the program.

The whole thing looks like it was designed for a 2 year old's eyes and i want the old msn!
IMO, this design is the best out of all the previous Messengers.

It looks like your taking one look at the program and going, "I don't know how to use this shit, I want the old one." Just use it and you'll get used to it.

Anyone notice how MSN/WLM-Yahoo! IM messaging is still very buggy?
The contacts list is also very buggy now as well. Sometimes when you add a contact, MSN/WLM will complain that it cannot save the data due to some server error, but others will save just fine. Messaging between the two clients is still an issue too. Sometimes they won't see each other online, and even worse, sometimes one will fail sending a message to the other, and there's nothing you can do to tell the other person that you can't reply to them! lol

All-in-all, I'd like to see a bug-free version be made where all chat clients can communicate with one another. This is getting very annoying, and I'm sick of Trillian now-a-days to overcome this...
