Title: How to avoid loosing weapons in server restarts?
Post by: Fabio on April 02, 2009, 07:22:25 pm
I found a way which you can save your weapons during a server restart, when the server was about to restart, I found out that my speedo went off, and I could not see my chat, so I typed /q, and I exited the game, then I came back, and I found out I still had my knife, this was a couple of weeks ago, havent bought a weapon since, but I lost the knife, anyways, is this allowed if your not using it as a advantage agianst someone else, I think this should be allowed in general use if you fear a server restart and you bought weapons...

This is basically a form of /q abuse - /q to save weapons. Although you may argue that it is not abuse due to no one has killed you, so I think it is allowed, but that is what I think. :)

You weren't meant to be killed and lost weapons so it shouldn't be any kind of abuse

If you weren't supposed to lose them, and you quit, aint abuse.

If u ever saw play get banned for /q abuse its because he used /q to forse close game so weapons would stay on next login

/q abouse is abousing script that was made to help players keep weapons after crashes, abusing script = unfair advantage over others = bannable

So, its not allowed then?

I was told another trick you could use, wait for everyone to log in then log in yourself. Is that abuse? Or is scrolling through your weapons to save them abuse? Come on....I really dont see how this would be /q abuse.... I think a main admin should post or even like Gandalf.

You can only "/q abuse" through dying.

Also known as; yes it is allowed. I clearly remember Gandalf stating that you are allowed to use /q to save your weapons during a server restart.

RS3
Here is a little trick, after buying guns from ammunation leave the game and relog, if a server crash does occur you will have your weapons once restart, should not count as abuse unless you are suspect or trying to save weapons after death.

RS4
Might be fixed that you don't lose weapons.
