Well this litte extra I added has had some good rp and some bad rp..
So...
Here are some guidelines to how they ought to be used
Roadworks
1. Use them to mark out the working area where workmen will be operating.
2. Use them to setup lane control, using staff to manage traffic through the not so wide road
3. DO NOT use them to completely block a two lane or bigger road !!
4. DO NOT use them to completely block of access to a property, especially a Gas Station or State property !
Police
Well actually police cannot use them BUT builders can be asked to support a police operation and place barriers around a situation to restrict access
Criminals
Well really you can setup a situation under roadworks to force traffic to be slower and more controlled, to allow you to set someone up for example.
Events
This was what gave me idea actually, the ability to close roads off if say there is a big race going on. You might ask why not just have admins place them down, well this adds rp in setting the race up, or simliar event. Since admins are normally involved in these large events it can be monitored and is less likely to be abused.
WARNING
We have already had to use the admin command that REMOVES ALL THE BARRIERS as these have been used to block access to LSPD, major roads, Gas Stations etc..
I do NOT want to have to remove the ability to place them, by removing that portion of script.
Please THINK about why and where before you place them. Think RP, manage it, its not RP to just place the barriers.
-
Also remember guys to REMOVE your own barriers after using them...
Some people complaint that they /barrier and no barrier appears, but they get the message saying one has. If this ever happens, stay still and /pickupbarrier IMMEDIATELY and replace it somewhere else!
-
The one about Criminals is good exspecially in a tunnel.
-
as a suspect you can't place a barrier anyway
it a great idea CBF J~&~B Construction has already helped out with a 207 we blocked off the roads totally i hope that was allowed :trust: not that i care about the money but i think the cops should pay the Construction ppl on scene to place the barriers and having to spend there time at the 207 to remove the roadblocks later

buy the workers to set up the block's

My police subgroup, MRT, sets up barriers using the "heavy" weapons.
Of course, no random person can get in.
As you set up this new rule, could my subgroup get an official permit to set up barriers (under a high-ranked person's command, of course)?

Yesterday, Amazing RP.

It should be restricted to place barriers in some areas, like Pershing Square, Pay'n'Sprays and Gas Stations.

Put it this way, by blocking off a location you are restricting access to what might be the only one for some distance, even worse if its a GS as you can only go so far on 1 fuel !

me David and Ziad all roelplayed Construction as GS9, we blocked it off entirely, Though this was of course Rped getting the Owners consent etc. etc.
What if it a situation like that
-
Yes, and I would like to add to Dark's comment that we did give people a 5 - 10 minute warning that the gas station would be closed

And Allowed people who desperatly needed it to fill up the Gascan
-
Its got to be RP managed with owners consent, and 5-10 minutes it not much of a warning.
Btw since GS and PD's are state do not expect consent..
The shop is private but all GS pump facilities are currently state...
