At the moment I should choose Geforce XFX 9500GT 512MB DDR2
But.. I am not total geek into Video Cards... but 512 MB is enough to take the games..
-
It Depends.
The 9500 is a good stand-alone card. But if you want to expand into something like SLI i would go with the 9600.
I personally like SLI, Faster, more reliable then standalone But i also use anywhere from 1-4 monitors on a daily basis
-
The 9600 is the best choice, no matter if you want SLI or not. But you should look at your budget, if you can afford the 9600, then get it ;)
-
A word of advice from me since i have a 9600GT and used to have a 9600GSO..
DO NOT get the 9600GSO ..
believe me they dont have reliability..., rather concider the 9600GT or another card..
GSO series arent reliable, i learnt the hard way and had to throw the card out.. thats why i now have the 9600GT and its amazing ;)
Try get this 9600GT if possible: (( this is the card im using, running SLi and its so insane.. ;) worth getting even with the price if you can afford it :) ))

Madboi It Usually Depends on What Drivers you Run. Some of Nvidias Cards will stop working if you install updated drivers, Or Get Weighed down with excess shiot that isnt needed
-
yea i know all of those probs and theyre easy to fix, uninstall the drivers then reinstall just the updates and its fixed..
but the GSO series is stil something i advise all to stay away from... ive had problems with them so has my friend with a 8600GSO or something like that :rules:
-
I Have a GSO Series in ony of my Pc's a 8600 i think.
Never had Problems.
And No Madboi you dont install updates again, You jsut install the driver that came with it.
-
No man, you have to update sometime, for optimal performance, you keep it upto date with new drivers...
keeping origional drivers can slow card performance in newer games and so on... :rules:

No it's Quite the oppisite, Loading them with new drivers and such, Depending on the card, will slow performance or even make it not work.
Madboi dont argue with me about this, i have hand built 13 computers that all run Nvidia in my studio, i know what im talking about.
-
:cap: :cap: :cap:
ok ima go bury myself now :gn:
-
Ugh, Nvidia? I'd recommend an ATI, as they have a broad range of cards, and their performance speaks for itself.
-
-.- Squeaky.. just walk away with ATI before someone gets hurt :out:
XD :rules: NVIDIA Rules!!!

Just sayin', I got a lot 'a bang for my buck with this Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4850. ^_^, $80US and I can play any game on the market.
-
hmm... stil will be creamed by a XFX GeForce 9600GT XT Edition for around $120-$180 US
-
Squeak stfu and gtfo :P

Yeah, ATI is like delicious chocolate. Nvidia is good also, though.
-
ATI suck ass, nVidia rock my own socks. :D
Uhm, I think the 9600GSO is the best there and will run nearly everything..

How many ATI cards have you had?
OnTopic: Uhm.. 9600 .. looks.. good?
-
How many ATI cards have you had?
98712 - Every single card was shit.
-
I had a ATI card ones... doesn't support my videocard for a along time.. damn piece of shit..
I had 2 Nvidia cards (6200 and 8400), and these are still one of my favourite's, because I never had problems with it with ANY program.. while I had sometimes with the ATI.
-
i had a ATI, it ended up burning from overheating -.- the heatsync fan stopped working after 1,5years.. i had even cleaned it every month but it still broke
-.- never again will i waste money on ATI
-
ATi Always ends up overheating and costing more and more money to replace.
Not to mention crossfire is shit, and ATI isnt widely supported on motherboards as much as Nvidia is.
So plain and simpole, Nvidia is better
-
hell yea... nVidia FTW!!! :gun: ATI must die!!! :war:
-
If you want to play games like Call of Duty, 9500GT will be fine.
If you want to play games like Crysis, or just want a good investment that will be able play future games that will require a good GPU, then go for the 9600GT.
Check some reviews on YouTube on the card you want before buying.
I'm going to get the 9800GT because I'm probably going to have my new PC for a while.
It's all down to personal preference.
NVIDIA / ATI. It doesn't really matter which brand, both have good video cards that perform well and bad ones that have bugs or overheat, I use both, people just support NVIDIA like a football team. It's like comparing a Peugeot 107 to a Citroen C1.
-
-.- nope.. i hate both cars and if memory serves me right, theyre both French cars -.-

It was a metaphor...
-
Also, to all nVidia or ATI haters. Without either ATI or nVidia, one of the companies has no competition, meaning they can put the prices as high as they want to.
So be glad that there are atleast 2 major graphic card makers, or else we would end up paying thousands of dollars/euro's for a card.
Think about it ;)
Don't hate, embrace :)
-
no youre gone off the tracks there,, if there was no ATI which are shit,,, NVIDIA would be cheaper because would have more sales and no need to fight with other new technology from other companies eventhough ATI cant make 1 card that doesnt have flaws...

You don't know anything about economic's ah?
Anyway, let's get back on-topic.. this disscussion isn't the right place here.
