This is horrible. You have to wait 130 for the download to begin, about 25 minutes for one part to download, and when you try to extract the one part it says you need the other part. When you try and download the other part it says you've reached your limit.

Make a new folder in Program Files.
Reinstall San Andreas in that folder.

Use USD (Universal Share Downloader) to download 2 files and up From many websites (Including most popular ones) and the application will deal with your downloads without any errors , just add it to the USD and wait ;)

Restart your modem so you can start downloading the second part instantly without waiting for 15 minutes

the program is Called WinRar, you can split files to size you wish, then if you have downloaded all parts of a file, you just do right click on one of the parts > extract... and done ;) you got the splited file.

Just download both of them, open 1ST archive, everything will be automaticaly(Or at the middle of installing it will say "Insert 2nd CD, just browes the way to 2ND img dr, thats it.).

GUYS I couldnt install it! I haven't such program to install it. It is .img file, when I got to microsoft site to get help it sais : it is picture. - but i know that its not!

I have deamon tools but it doesnt work ther too!

Edit:
I've changed the name from .img to .iso so trying to burn it with Nero8


Edit: Burn Failed. Disc seems to be empty. How to install this damn .img?

Uhm, you need to just copy it to your "models" folder in your GTA San Andreas installation folder.

Or, if you want to edit it, you can use Img Tool.

Pretty sure that uploading the original gta3.img is illegal, just pointing that out as other topics like the marijuana topic were locked because it too was "illegal".

WTH? Weird file. If i install , it says it's named gta3.7z ... After i DLed it , it's a RAR file. Named gta3.7z . When i double click it , it says nothing is inside it. What i must do?

7z is not a RAR file (though it is an archive like RAR or ZIP), but WinRAR should be able to open and extract 7zip files.

If WinRAR can't open it right, get 7zip.

Something like a .zip or .rar file, it's an archive that contains other files inside.

The gta3.img file contains mostly game models and textures for the world/map, vehicles, peds, weapons, etc.

If you guys try to get rid of all mods , and replace this gta3.img , sometimes it doesen't help. Find a thing named ''Rebuild Archive''. For me it worked. Or just uninstall GTA SA , SA:MP and all GTA SA related things and of course your gta3.img in models folder. For me the both ways helped ;P

gta3.img is one file and it is divided into two files which are part1.rar and part2.rar so when you extract both of them in one place, It will only extract one file which is gta3.img.

If you didn't understand then I will explain again in a different way.

File "gta3.img" is divided by half into "part1.rar" and "part2.rar" and it is exactly 50% inside each .rar file, Which are "part1.rar" and "part2.rar" so if you want to extract both files or merge them together, then you need a program called "WinRAR", and you can download it from the official WinRAR website from here (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm).

It is not piracy, we do not share the game here, just a solution for players who got broken gta3.img file (broken = messed up with the mods).
If you dont have the game, gta3.img won't give you anything :)

I checked the file from megaupload, and it works properly for me.

This has multiple missing skins... While going through a clothes shop, I froze, but one skin had no .txd in the file. At first I thought I might have done something wrong. But once going in another clothes shop and experiencing it again with a skin I did not even add a mod on, it was obvious that the gta3.img was missing some files. So, if anyone is going to download this, be aware that if someone approaches you, or you try to get the skin that is missing in the file, your game will freeze until the model is added.
