Title: Recording from a DVD.
Post by: Pandalink on June 11, 2009, 06:56:11 pm
I have a DVD disc, and I want to record a short portion of it into an .avi file on my computer.

When I simply copy the necessary .mpeg from the DVD disc onto my hard drive, the audio becomes totally choppy and the video part is lost entirely.

Anyone know how to do this?

Turn on Fraps, open the video in Windows Media Player, play the video and record the bit that you want to have on your HDD.

Thats exactly what I did, but as you can see the framerate isn't perfect.

Wondering if there was any way to rip the actual file itself, since my PC can't seem to fraps stuff very well.
I'll try it with some other DVD players, just to make sure.

Holy crap though, I tried it with WMM (I used PowerDVD before, which lagged with fraps) and it worked perfectly.
Damn, that was simpler than I thought.
Thanks man! :)
