Title: Looking for guides for music making with these applications, and more.
Post by: Gird3r on July 21, 2009, 07:33:12 pm
Hello, as the current situation provides.. requires me to be able to create some half-decent music, 2d graphics and story writing.

Story writing is not a problem. But the problem is making the 2d graphics and the music making.

It might be intresting to note that I'm after making game music/graphic
It would be nice if anyone could provide links and guides for Music making.

As of now I use Fruity Loops studio 8 and Milkytracker.

So, do anyone know of good resources?  :)

As a professional musician, I recommend Logic Pro.. but its for Mac I just remembered..

I used to use Cubase before, but I didnt like it.
Most professionals, and myself look down on Fruity Loops.. I just hugely dislike the interface, the design and the features on it compared to Logic Pro/Express.

For graphics use a combination of bitmap and vector programs.

Not sure if they have to be free or paid... so here some useful.

- 2D: paint.net
- Vector : Xara Xtreme
- Music : Magix Music Maker

I know that especially the last one is 'not professional '.
But it is like with photocamera's. A professional photographer wants a camera where he can set each and every option.
An amateur just needs something that makes a nice photo when he pushes a button. ;)

I have Magix Music Maker, it's really hard to find sounds and sets and stuff though.
