Title: New method of compression - WTF?!
Post by: Altair_Carter on July 26, 2009, 07:56:23 pm
Okay, let me tell you my story:

I've been going around my PC and i deleted accidently the ISO of Oblivion. I'm was: "Meh, deleted, uh, well, just simply download the nocd"
Browsed over Internet and i noticed a nocd on 7.8 kb, a mini-image. I thought :this'll do.
After i opened archive i noticed that unraring the files were too long. Well, i looked what size they are: in total 4,76 GB.....

After a bit of thinking i told that to Henry, and we came to conclusion that this guy is either from future or a haxor.......WTF Is that possible? I checked auto-run of the Oblivion image and it works.....It seems, i downloaded a 4,76 GB game in 1 second while it was compressed in a little 7.88 kb!?

I'll post this on rapidshare as proof: http://rapidshare.com/files/260312295/Oblivion_bended.rar

What you do? simply unrar all the files with mds/mdf/md1/md2. Run through Daemon Tools and maybe install a full Oblivion....

Now, computer experts, can you tell me if that's even f**king possible!?

You may still read that, but that's pretty useless. I understood how that's possible. Topic lock/remove please. For answers in PM/MSN

1. That should be hardware support topic, not speakerbox :P

Well answer to your question is yes.. and no.
Yes you can play using mini-image, but no - you cannot install game :)
Files which are there doesn't include any data, only the most important informations, which are checked by "security" check :)
