Hello, its me.
I wish to suggest the forum of "World news and current events discussion" . It could be a sub forum for speakerbox or one forum of its own - after it passes a trial period maybe?.
I believe it'd be good for the positive sides of the forum which can include:
•People will let others know news such as "Michael jacksons death" within minutes, earlier then the news people in other countrys find out.- I used to post on a forum, but no longer. Ont he forum i suggested the same forum. It was made. And it ended up being a great forum and is still going today :P
•People can tell others about whats happening in there area - Giacs thread about a movie being filmed on his street is an example.
•People from around the world can communicate, discuss and give there feelings about the world we live in today and all the curent events going on.
•Wannabe news presenters / reporters can have there bit int he forums :P.
ok i have not many listed positives, but it will be of a great input to the community ! I know this :P
Notes , personal notes etc
• They will not be used for politics if people can follow example set- It is for reporting news, discussing and informing etc , not highly political now... :S
• I wouldn't mind helping to look after the forum - I suggest it so , i should atleast pay something, if not money, then my time and dedication to say thx to the forum admins who added it :P.
• It will be great for the community. Brining people together. But also there could be a risk of people getting angry at someone elses views - highly political stuff shouldnt be allowed, views should be, but turning a thread about a war into a flame war would do no good and if i was incharge = Lock + proberlly warn :c
• It would be a great place for the threads you find lurking around the speakerbox as it will be a bank of old news so people can one day know about the history in year 5000 when Argonathrpg is literually a world of its own :P.

that #2 if you have read Argonath vision, then you already know that Argonath does not advertise using alcohol, drugs and other such substances. Also when it comes to discussion/debating. Well debating itself points to politics and the experience shows that those topics never end well also like religion topics does not end well. If I remember correctly we even had "no topics on politics/religion" rule.

Well i wasnt so sure on #2 myself, but what about #1 ??

As for your first idea, we're not exactly getting flooded with those kind of topics, so although I wouldn't mind a subsection, I don't think we need one.

I would like to bring http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=40054.new#new to the attention of those who may think that it may cause separation between the community.
It doesnt, as you can see it sort of helps to bring the Community much closer by people sharing others things etc.

There's nothing wrong with creating these kind of topics, but the bottom line is that there isn't enough for a subsection. There's no point creating a subsection if we're barely going to get anything in there. If more people felt compelled to create topics with regard to world news and current affairs, then it'd seem like a reasonable idea, but until such a time, it seems unneeded.

I know why you may feel this.
But atleast give the idea a try.
I suggested this on another SAMP server site. They gave it a trial, and It was a great sucess. People found out say... Michael Jacksons death before there countrys had even heard of it on the news!.
I would put lots of effort into moderating it to prove that it doesn't get filled up of flaming etc.
ofcourse Argonath is very diff from the other place i used to visit. But please, just a trial atleast?
You cant say that you dont like a new flavour of icecream because you would just be ignorant if you didnt taste it. Who knows ? If you gave it a few licks... You might end up with a brain freeze from not getting enough of it... You'd be after it like Qwagmire (spelling?) from Family guy on a blow up doll. (Sorry if you think this is innapropriate, but its just what came to mind :D )

Ofcourse I had to make the 5 first threads but then... I noticed others added stuff! and there is so much!! I think it even is gonna be the second greatest on the site i used to visit... (After the Chatterbox or w.e)

On the site i used to post on they also did not like politics. The forums were never used for politics, but more for reporting local news , I found out about michael Jacksons death ((RIP T.T)) before the BBC had found out :lol:
Its not poltiical if you use it for news and stuff , i think it should be given a try. :neutral:

Ofcourse Politics and REligion is ok. But I want a World News and current affairs discussion forum.
Did you read my post properlly?... Read it agian please.

No it isnt.
News is not always political, like the death of michael jackson,s ome in the US knew several hours and it was on the internet, thats how the BBC found out about it and broadcasted it in the UK.

Although from this original idea the sub board "Political" etc was made, I regret it.
It's turning into load of disgusting racism, ignorance and general hatred.
I wanted something less rough and tough then what it is now.
I liked my old idea best, even if the title is long "World news and current affairs discussions".
The forum needs (a) moderator(s) urgently.
