Alright. I am thinking of buying a new computer within the few following weeks.
And I've been looking at some shops etc etc. But I found out that I will buy it at the internet.
- Budget - 1388,43€
Yeah..Anything I just GOT to have?
-
You need a good motherboard for upgradability and future proofing.
What are you going to be using the PC for? Gaming?
-
Gaming and film modifying.

Gaming and film modifying.
Get a Quad Core processor, I recommend it.
Intel imo.
-
Get an Intel Quad Core CPU. The best from the range. They're made for multi-tasking. ;)
Also, the nVidia GTX 280 will run all your games to their full needs.
3/4 GB of DDR3 RAM aswell. :D
-
You have a considerable good budget for a gaming computer.
A good sugestion is a quad-core processor, you can choose between Phenom X4 or Core 2 Quad.
If you wish to really spend with processors, Core I7 or, Phenom II X4
Examples:
Core 2 Q6600
Phenon X4 9950
Or, if you feel like, a good dual core processor, such as: Core 2 Duo E8500
Good motherboards marks is like: Asus, ECS, Gigabyte, MSI.
Asus seems to lead in market, with awesome motherboards.
A good example is: Asus Rampage series.
But, Asus works better with Intel.
for AMD processors, ECS Motherboards are recomended.
Video cards, choosing one is not very hard.
If you wish to have a good gaming experience with Nvidia, GTS250 or 9800GTX+ seems good enough.
with ATI, i could say: HD 4850 or HD 4870
Power supply:
Choose between: Corsair, Huntkey, Seventeam, Coolermaster, C3 Tech (750W Model Psh-750v Only), OCZ.
Well, you're going to need above 500W.
Do not choose cheap or generic marks, such as Clone, Choose only above.
Memory:
800 mhz is a good choice.
corsair, kingston, markvision, ballistix and OCZ are the best marks that i ever experienced :P
If you wish more peformance, 1066 mhz is a good pick.
Casemod:
Choose a big case, for cooling reasons.
Gamer casemods is a good choice.
Monitor:
LCD..
I'd choose 15,6" or 17"..
i personally don't like LCD monitors with like 30"
-
Thanks Wayne. I already got a monitor.
It's 19" ;p
-
Oh, yeah. You'll need a good Power Supply Unit (PSU).
Possibly around 600-750W, depending on you choose to buy.
-
Thanks Washing machine.
oups, I said the word wash, do I end up in courth now? :P
-
Thanks Washing machine.

No, my patent thing was denied. :(

No, my patent thing was denied. :(
I guess Rage Inc would owe you millions ;p
-
btw, you're not going to need a video card like GTX 280, it's kinda waste since it is expensive.
a 9800GTX+ or GTS 250 or HD 4850 or HD 4870 can be enough.
-
I just want the best for my budget, so I wont need to buy extra parts after like..uhm a month or so.
-
atm what i said on my previous post is good for your budget, you can stay like 6 months or more without buying a extra part and enjoying quality.
-
You can afford a GTX 280 in your budget. A GTX 280 is one of the best nvidia cards available today on the market. I had one once. It was awesome, until I overclocked it. :(
Anyway, a GTX 280 will last you atleast a few years before you'll even have to think of replacing it. ;)
-
Alright :)
-
No need of DDR3 memory, just costs more and LITTLE bit performance boost.. Not worth it imo.. (Unless you buy Core i7)
NEVER buy Phenom.. Phenom II is good but Phenom sucks... (Meaning if you buy AMD, buy Phenom II)
GTX 280... It's really good, but why pay from something when you can get the same with cheaper (HD 4890)...
600W+ PSU...? No way... One video card needs less than 500W... But I recommend Corsair HX520W... One of the best PSU, maybe even the best..
Like Wash said, you need a good motherboard... Think about only Asus, it's the best for making motherboards..
-
Phenom X4 is not a bad processor, if you're looking for some quad-core cheap.
AMD = Intel.
there's no difference basically.
both have great peformance.
i had a P4 3.06 it used to run games well, now i have a 7750 X2 2.7ghz and i am happy.
500W? you want to blow your computer? :P
a simply good video card like HD 4850 just takes 250W only!
a HD 4870 takes 300W
HD 4890 Take arround 330W
let's see now processor's power consumption.
Q6600 may take 200W
usually quad-core processors takes arround 200W - 300W.
so, if you really wish to not have lack of power supply, 600/700W PSU.
-
GPU Total W
4870 X2 264
4870 130
GTX 280 178
9800 GX2 182

Kessu, I'm sure I could find this on the net somewhere or possibly test it on my own PC somehow but do you know what power type of power wattage does the GTX 295 take?
I have a 1200W Thermaltake PSU, and I wonder whether it's really needed?
*Note: I also have an Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition clocked @ 3.2GHz.
-
GTX 295 Takes 425W on full load
Core i7 965 takes 337W on full load
a 800W or 1000W PSU is enough.
-
Hmm. I guess its best if I keep the 1200W PSU then, as it makes sense to keep the extra power just incase. Thanks. :D
-
Tell me how you get video card like GTX 295 to full load with some game? Only Furmark (or like that) can set it to 100% load..
Processor @ 100% load, yeah, with Intel Burn Test.. Not even Prime95 set it to 100% load even programs shows so...
Edit:Kessu, I'm sure I could find this on the net somewhere or possibly test it on my own PC somehow but do you know what power type of power wattage does the GTX 295 take?
I never was talking about GTX 295...
-
Edit:I never was talking about GTX 295...
Eh? D:
I asked the question because I thought it would save me looking on the internet, as you'd probably know. It would be pointless to make a topic out of it aswell. :)
Aksel, when are you going to buy this PC?
