Bloods, also known as Pirus, developed in Los Angeles, California to protect themselves from the Crips and have become their traditional rivals. The Bloods or Pirus identify with the color red. They will usually carry a red rag and wear articles of clothing that are red. They also adopted the term "Blood" for identifying each other. Bloods are known to be involved in the trafficking of crack cocaine with Bloods factions now being found in larger Texas cities. Some Bloods street gang members will have tattoos of the name of the particular set (faction) they belong to (i.e. Fruit Town Piru, Rollin 30'S Piru, 87 Family Blood).
