Title: SA:MP script test : Moaners hell
Post by: Gandalf on August 20, 2009, 07:16:07 pm
The next test, and no its not the server that broke.

Our last test of the current series we disabled public and local chat options
Public chat works for admins only

you can talk by pressing 't'

thank god these tests are over
in my opinion the following scripts should stay:
cj running, no blips
hoping this current test isnt perm  ;)

So now we have blips within 300 meters, and the 't' chat is also within 300 meters..
we can still use /me though

I somewhat agree and yet disagree. I mean only people a certain distance should see you. it seems that's what its like now, only thing is sometimes im in SF and i see someone hanging out in idlewood. So it gets a little bit weird there. Also with CJ running, i crashed a lot, but not as much as normal.

I don't think this was implemented because of that... ;)

I've kept away from the SA:MP server since it removed the public chat, it just dosen't feel like Argonath...

i agree wit fabio but its only a test if this script was implemented that would mean the devolpers are trying to reduce spam on main chat and ppl moaning on main chat

I'd love it if you'd completely remove the blips. The fact there's /area AND blips makes it easy for cops to find out the exact location of a suspect. I think you should have one of the two, but not both. When the blips were removed, there was finally a lot of radio communation on police dispatch.

i'm confused over the current chat system, however less crashes for me!

The current chat system can't possibly be the reason for the crashes. I played at servers where there's more spamming and it almost never crashes.

I couldn't stand being on the server for 5 minutes without any local chat, but I didn't crash in those 5 minutes.

I've kept away from the SA:MP server since it removed the public chat, it just dosen't feel like Argonath...
I think in that way new players and even regulars won't make new friends on argonath.. in my opinion this isn't just a game, but there are some good friendships. Removing the main chat will only decrease the hopes of a new player to make friends. And will give admins more work, since usually are the players the ones who give new players explanations about scripts/commands and about everything.

I just hope that will only be a TEST..

Thanks for the cooperation.
We will now gather the results and study them, and expect the influence of these test in script updates.
