I am pretty new to this RP thing but I like this server. However, the firemen have nothing to do, they can't actually put out fires, nor can they heal people. So, trying to be creative, I tried to help cops with criminals by shooting down the criminals with the water cannon so the cops can arrest them. This happens in real life as water cannons are used in riot control. Yet, the admins goes bat-s*** crazy if I even try to do this. Usually they say be a cop if you want to help cops. I would, but seeing as cops can't drive firetrucks I can't.
I thought this was the whole point of RP, to make your own game and not be limited by other people's smaller imagination. However it seems that this is not the case with the admins and I can't help the cops because "I'm not a cop".
Hopefully you can see me out on this and not just say "Listen to the admins. they know best".

Such things are prohibited for a simple reason - if a person uses the water cannon on a suspect he normally pushes down a few others with it too. Such things have happened in the past and naturally those players do get upset about it. Although this may not have happened in your case, this being the general situation, such things are prohibited.
In Argonath the SWAT do use their swat truck which comes fitted with a water cannon. They alone are allowed to use it. They use the truck whenever needed. Although your gesture towards cops is appreciated, it would be biased if we were to allow one person and not allow another, not to mention complications regarding the issue.
If you still feel abused please use [email protected] to report admins/players alongwith a detailed statement regarding what happened with proof of the same.

Firemen CAN put out fires, if you see fires you can put them out with your extinguisher or your water cannon
Also, firemen are mainly for roleplay things...so they turn up at situations like events where there may be hazards

In real life, the fire department do not fire water cannons at suspects...they do this in very extreme cases of riot control as you yourself pointed out

It looks a lot like deathmatching, which administrators do not like to see on the server as it is against our rules

Firemen roleplay fires and other hazards, cops arrest/kill criminals - no mixing and matching, pick the one you want to do

This is not about imagination, it's about how actions are interpreted by other people - shooting criminals with a water cannon is seen as deathmatching...this does not mean that the people who see it like this have a lack of imagination

If you want to help the cops, WHY NOT be a cop? You would help them more with the police force itself than with a water cannon
On another note, do not make topics called "abusive admins" as they are only doing their job. Furthermore, if you actually do believe that there is abuse happening then please feel free to send an e-mail complaint to [email protected]

Cops actually do have a proper riot vehicle mounted with a water cannon, but it's use is extremely restricted and only SWAT members have access to it. This said, you can't go around and randomly blast at suspects with a firetruck.
Although your enthusiasm for creative role play is great, there are always certain restrictions on what you can and can't do.
