Title: Samsung SGH-D600 flashing or SimLock removal
Post by: Janar on September 14, 2009, 05:52:22 pm
Well, i found my old Samsung SGH-D600, and decided to test, if it works.
I turned it on with my other SIM card, then i entered PIN, and for my dissappointment: It was asking for SIM Lock code.
I had no idea about it, what it could be. I have tried different softwares.
Nothing helped. None of the programs found that phone. I am using USB cable, that came with phone.
Last time tried SWIFT Flasher 3.2h.
Tried different guides, nothing! Tried with and without SIM Card.
So, i decided to ask, if any of you can help me. I really appreciate, if you could help me.
The biggest problem with this is, that NONE of the programs, including Samsung PC Studio 3, doesn't find that phone.

I am using Windows XP.

And don't tell to take it to service or buy something for it.
I might give out a reward, if i will have checked over my financial status IG.

I think its not possible on Samsung they need a master unlock code wich you need to buy or there is an 20 Euro universal sim works on every network

i unlocked my W910 with similiar method

try using Free Samsung Tool link ------> http://www.mediafire.com/?0fbm2v9bw5y

1) Plug Phone

2) Choose where is it connected

3)Choose model

4) Unlock and let it finish  ;)

I don't have network lock on it, i have SIM lock, which prevents me from using any other SIM cards, than one, but i don't have that SIM card any more.
Sim Lock is a lock, which is assigned by phone user by code and prevents to use any other SIM cards on that phone.

well that is it cuz in my country SIM lock is said network lock so i say T-Mobile network and you say T-Mobile SIM but its the same  ;)

What i meant is Unlocking it with that soft so it could work on all SIMs

Well, there are 2 different locks: Network and SIM lock.
Network lock prevents you from using other OPERATOR sim card.
SIM lock prevents you from using ANY other sim card.

And i have currently the 2nd problem.

Okay thanks, but can anyone help, how to make my computer find my phone?
I see Samsung USB Modem in Device Manager/Modems, as COM port 3.
But if i use unlocker/flasher program or Samsung PC Studio, it doesn't find my phone!

I tried with and without SIM card, by turning on and off many times, still computer doesn't recognize my phone.
I don't have that SIM, what can be used with this phone, lost it when phone fell into river with that SIM card accidently.

Right. First thing to do is make sure that its not loosly connected and that all of your USB ports work. You could try a different USB cable and you could also try cleaning your current one( and the ports on the PC and phone if its possible ). Then you could try any of the solutions posted above. They should work ( I think ).

Cheers from me. Update after you've done this

Well, cable is fine, as it can charge the battery.
USB Port works well, as i have USB hud in my display(Samsung SyncMaster 2063UW) and these work, as my steering wheel is in same port as i tried phone cable.
Tried cleaning, didn't help. Don't have other USB cable to test.

Be careful with removing simlock.
On my Z400 when you try to remove simlock via any code / unauthorised software there's "PHONE FREEZE" and you have to pay like 15$ to remove block...
While phone is frozen you cannot do anything..

Well, i could try flashing my phone, which means that reinstalling firmware.
It should remove SimLock as clean firmware is installed.
I have all needed files.
