Title: I'm seriously gonna stab my PC.
Post by: Alsatian on October 05, 2009, 10:23:49 pm
Ok, I want to play Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. The problem? Whenever I try and install it, it keeps asking me this:

I mean, I want to install it, not un-install.. sigh.

Any suggestions here, guys? I've deleted every file and folder related to the game, still no success.

Did you try and click un-install? Also try and see if you can make the directory a new folder other than the default. I remember my SA was being buggy and Gandalf suggested it, and it worked.

Oh, wow. Turns out someone has deleted the JA folder. So, I'm guessing your all going to say System Restore, eh?

Meet me on MSN later Alsa, i got this program named uhm.. what is it again.. uhm. oh yeah.. "Reg Cleaner" and it cleans the smallest files on your harddisk. It should also remove that Jedi Knight files so you can delete it that way. Don't worry you won't need a system restore for that. Just meet me on MSN so i can send you it..

Get the 30 day free trial of Tune Up Utilities 2010 or an older 2009 for free and use the Install/Uninstal programs utility. There search for the name of the game.

If it doesnt work open some kind of registry editor ( Go to "Start", "Run" and in the text box type "regedit" all without the quotes ) Press Ctrl+F for "Search" and type in keywords such as "jedi" "academy" or the manufacturer of the game and if any entries pop out just delete them. This should work if anything else fails.

Fixed the problem. I deleted the un-install files, so yeah... epic failure.

The disc is scratched to shit anyway, it won't install. :/
