Hey guys,
I've searched on this and the ARPD website, but can't really find what I am looking for. Is there a like beginner's tutorial?
Not for setting it up and everything, as I have seen those, but more for starting to play. For example, like most of the people on here, I would like to be a police officer (in real life I am 18 and want to be a New Jersey State Trooper), and would like to be one on the Argonath server.
I have heard freecops mentioned, and to the best of my ability can only guess that these are new players who have the same rights as police officers, but are in pre-training (not officially recognized by the ARPD).
Just a disclaimer here too: I am making sure I know ALL of the LAWS and CODES to be a police officer, and will act as a real Police Officer would in real life, following the laws, protecting and serving.
That being said, I was wondering if anyone could explain to me/redirect me where I could get a few answers to questions I assume most new players encounter.
I have read a lot of the commands and such, but was wondering how, as a freecop, how I can get a police car to use? For example, I will be swapping out the original cars for different ones (NJSP Cars, Unmarked, San Andreas Cars, etc.), and was wondering how I can get one without stealing it, getting reported, etc, etc.
Secondly, can someone give me the basics to being a freecop? Am I always on duty, can I access the Police/Emergency Radio, do I need ventrillo/teamspeak, or is that only when I become a cadet/officer.
I know some of these questions overlap with the ARPD, but the only reason I haven't posted this on there is because I have seen on numerous occasions, they make it explicitly clear that they are NOT affiliated with freecops.
Thanks alot for having patience with a noob like myself.

okay, thanks for the heads up, I know how harsh the online gaming community can be from time to time, so i would like to thank you guys for being nice to the new players, like myself because, just like freshman, we have all been there.

Hi,
There are various police departments all over San Andreas. They are:
Los Santos Police Department
San Fierro Police Department
Las Venturas(sp? -_-) Police Department
Dillimore Police Department
Fort Carson Police Department
Angel Pine Police Derpartment
El Quebrados Police Department
There are a number of cars at each of these police departments. It's not reccomended to patrol in a civilian car while on duty, but it's not prohibited.
To talk in the emergency radio, the command is /e(mergency). To talk on the normal police radio, it's /r(adio).
The teamspeak server IP/Port can be found at the top of the forums in the "Server List" subforum.
I'm sure any ARPD officer on duty (dark blue name) would be more than happy to help you as a freecop. Just PM them ingame in a nice way and ask for the basics.
Hope I helped! PM me if you'd like any more info ;)

Using TS with your patrol partner is always good when patrolling but it is not needed.
I believe you're going to be a great officer some day :)
