Hello, my in game name was =CM=ChainSaW and I tried to change it to ChainSaW_Corleone I now now that there is a character limit and would like to know if an admin could please change the name back to the original one! Thankyou in advance for any help admins!

You should try variations of your name cut off. Figure out the character limit (16 max I think) and go through your name, stopping when you've reached the sixteenth character. If that's the case, trying to type in ChainSaW_Corleone would actually have been automatically cut off as ChainSaW_Corleon. Try logging in as that, and if it works, change your name from there.

Yeah I tried that too and it still didn't work....just a waiting game now for the admins to come by!.....dang this time difference......

Try sending a PM on the forum to gandalf ,Include old name/ name you put in wrong, and the name you want now , I had the same problem A w few weeks back he fixed it in a day!!!!This works faster than hoping an admin will stumble on your post ....(or send the message to an admin in your timezone , but I think Gandalf is the guy who normaly fixes this..)

It is the client not the server, The SA-MP team put it there for a good reason

No, I think he meant that the nickname check is handled by the client..
But it's not, the server doesn't allow long nicks, not the client.
If it was the clients fault, it would just show you an error at the beginning :)
Cheers,
-xcasio :)
