It is official SA:MP 0.2 has been released. This leaves our team with a question.
While we are working on our 2.0 scripts, there is still some way to go until we can release them.
In between we can convert the current script to 0.2, but it will not make use of all the options. So we have a question for you guys.

With the 0.2 client you can not connect to 0.1 servers. This means that our players who want to play on 0.2 will have to use a double installation or switch the installation. On the other hand 0.2 does not allow all  the nics and names the 0.1 does.

We are working hard on the 2.0 scripts, but they are still some time away. In the mean time we could convert the old scripts to 0.2, but they will not use the new options and possibilities.

Give you opinion, you have until the update of Sauron tomorrow to help us decide.

I belive we should switch to 0.2, yea i know the scripts and stuff wont really show much 0.2 features but its better to  be playin 0.2 anyways instead of the 'dark ages' in 0.1. I dunno its my opinion :)

I'm not really technical with scripting and stuff... If we convert the old scripts to 0.2 now, would we still have the same sync as 0.2? If we do, I'd say yes.

I think the animations and stuff are built in scripts for 0.2 so thereofre sirens and stuff like that i belive are already synched into game. So if this does go ahead and we transfer scripts to 0.2 we will have same argonath, only with frail old ladys and working sirens well, until the 2.0 scripts are implemented :)

We can caonvert for a small period of time till the 2.0 ones are complete, the dancing and some animations are handled by filterscripts anyway, and i am sure we can add the animations into the converted 0.1 script anyway

You can put the old scripts on 0.2 version and finish it whilst the players are allready playing on version 0.2! that would be awesome!

Yeah, I mean if you switch to the 0.2 now, would it have all the stuff synched eg tyres etc? It would be more enjoyable for the time being, but I don't mind waiting.

I suggest to switch on the 0.2 version...

1. First of all guys will find bugs of SA:MP 0.2 faster then we'll make scripts, so we can use it for editing some scripts...
2. It has no all possibilities, but still police sirens, popping tires, etc. are available...
3. It has some protection from cheats/mod/hacks that were used in 0.1b version...

As you already noticed, there are lots of cheaters suddenly started coming... it is cos they cannot play 0.2 version... So why should we keep them a good server?

4. We have no idea when we'll finish our scripts, as it is a very big complexed system... But it does not mean guys cannot switch and play the same old scripts on more better server' version....

The one thing that warns me - that rush of SA:MP developers...
0.2 version was opened even not being tested good...
So I guess there will be tons of bugs...

LOL, i just played on an server and tried some commands u can do /anim and give urself a handjob! :OO and you can do stripper moves aswell

I think we should definetly switch to 0.2, as think of the posatives - We will have more actions (Dancing , Hands up, ect.....) to do , which will inrease RP. If you think, 0.3 is long way away .There are also lots more reasons why we should.....

Ye, Like i said, we do not need 2.0 and new 0.2 script to use hands up etc, it is all handled by RC3 and The Dance Filter Script supplied with the RC3 Server

I played 0.2 today and: it is fantastic  :)
But i wanna play 0.2 on Argonath.
But it would be not a prob if we have to wait for the scrits.
We also can play 0.2 and the admins/scripters will finish it whilst playing 0.2 or we have to wait for 0.3 then ?

Yea i think we should convert the scripts to 0.2 because even though the scripts will be basically the same for know at least we can still play argonath other than playing the officiall servers for a month and Argonath is my reguler server so to me sa:Mp's not worth playing without it.
I think w should be notified when the admins/developers have finished all the scripts for 0.2.

I danced with some polish guy on one server  :lol:  ... I have been on the party server, it is great, however lacks all the brilliance of Argonath server if it was to be switched over.

The next positions were discussed and will be changed:

    * administration system will get new options to control rulebreakers;
    * MOLE missions will be removed from 0.2 scripts;
    * police department will get options, different from non-professional police officers;
    * cars spawns will be changed;
    * the new types of vehicles will be available;
    * skins spawn system will be changed;
    * property system will change some options;
    * business system will be opened in 0.2 scripts version;
    * will be added several new missions;
    * casinos system will be available;
    * licensing will add some positions

But the changeover, or running the old system on 0.2 is temporary. We still have to wait for new scripts either way, just if its 0.2 for the time being = bugs found quicker+ more fun.

Ps. I wouldn't mind at all if money goes. As long as there are limo's that can be bought in LV. I dont care :D .
Maybe 3 or 4 limos in LV eh?

* All players who have in their nick names characters: !@#$%^&*-+= should /changename on Argonath SA:MP 0.1b server... And then on SA:MP 0.2 Argonath server come with the new nicks

* Argonath RPG team is making a totally new script system, that is different from all other servers...
- payers possibilities;
- cars system;
- business system;
- property system;
- admins system;
- money cheaters protection system;
- skins spawn system;
- gangs system;
- missions possibilities;

No comments about details, but trust me - that is a very huge detailed system (will not affect a lot on new players thou)...

* As we have only 4 developers, the work on scripts will be not so fast as we were planning (our helpers have exams, school, RL problems, computers troubles, etc. :roll:)

* The new script system will be released after minimum two betatests (check betatest applications)... So the process is not so fast - do not count we'll update the new version this weekend...

* Due to the new and totally different script system, that is developing, the current accounts will lose:

- cash
- bank
- houses
- business
- cars

I got an idea. Make it possible to put criminals in handcuffs. then they cant get away or use guns :)
Also it would be nice if we can keep our money and houses of people who are never online are sold. So not all the houses. And the same for the cars... ;)
