Okay, so I got this Acer Aspire 3610 laptop from my sister for free, she didnt need it, but its kinda busted, since its 3 years old.
First of all, the battery is dead, it wont last even 20 minutes with full charge, and the recharger/power cord is busted too, the wire is sticking out of it, and I had to just quickly repair it with electric tape, I probably need new battery and power cord.
Second, the laptop is heating up like fuck, so I have though about buying a laptop cooler, Coolermaster Notepal X1 or Notepal Infinite seems to be nice.
Third of all, I reinstalled Windows XP to it, but its still kinda slow, I though about buying more memory, since it has only 512mb, and one memory slot free.
Anyway, I came up to ask you guys, if you have any ideas to make it faster, to cool it better, or good idea to make the battery better for cheap.

ebuyer.com is really cheap, but im not sure if they deliver out of UK

1. Buy new laptop battery, or use the batter hack! Laptop Battery Hack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtqRvAu71Gw#) (don't know does it work though, lol)
2. Open the power cord end (which the wires are off) and connect the wires back to originals with soldering. (if possible) - Or buy new power cord.
3. Open the laptop and clean it from dust and check for any broken components.

An easy sollution to all of your problems:
A DESKTOP COMPUTER - This laptop is way too old and underpowered to be worth restoring, nevermind upgrading.

First of all, check what the laptop is worth, how much to spend on repairing and the difference to buying something better.
Then check on sites like Ebay (or better local ones) for old laptops of the same model for spare parts. Often when the screen breaks the battery can be good, or the other way around.
