I got shotgun from cop car and I got banned for 60 mins for script abuse, what is that?
-
Script abuse is when you exploit a 'mistake' in the script to your own advantage. In this case you entered a police vehicle to get a shotgun. This script is made for cops and not for civilians. Please don't do it again.

It is not script abuse, as shotgun is given by game, not by script.
You can take it, but if cops notice you doing it, they can suspect you.
-
This thing is something most admins have different opinions about... Some say it's script abuse, some say it's a police issue (meaning, you can get suspected for it but not banned)
-
I wonder what admin banned you, as it are not scripts.
It are SAMP features and you shouldn't be able to get banned for that.
Suspection is enough, not a tempban.
-
It is pure script abuse as you receive weapons for free that are not supposed to be yours. I am surprised that some former admins seem not to know the rules.
Script abuse or glitch abuse is using features of the single player game or scripts in a way they are not intended in order to get an advantage.
How is getting weapons from a police garage script abuse ?
1. You are civilian, and as such should not be in the PD garages.
2. You are supposed to buy weapons, anything that makes you get weapons for free outside the scripted features is abuse.
-
I always thought so... If you're not supposed to be able to use the car, you're not supposed to use its benefits either.

the 5 Shotgun is a GTA Standart Script of the makers of GTA not argonath :D
-
What about if it is RP'ed?
/me smashes the window,
/me looks around,
/me grabs the Shotgun.
-
well it is script abuse because it is also a SAMP bug were the shotgun cannot be removed by admin command
-
I guess there should be a script that detects if:
- the players enter a police vehicle
- the player is civilian
- the player exits the vehicle and gets +5 shotgun ammo
If conditions are met, remove 5 shotgun ammo from him.

CBFASI tried this and failed
I will try in the future and hopefully succeed

Thanks, I didn't know.

Getting a shotgun from a cop car is not script abuse, it is illegal.
But wait, Gandalf said:

So, which is it? I always was told and understood that it was allowed, but I guess I am wrong. Heh,.

/w go with Gandalf's statement best idea :D

I am surprised that some former admins seem not to know the rules.
The rules are terribly ambiguous, I had no idea this wasn't allowed. Admins have to create a custom ruleset in their own heads just to be consistent with punishments.
I personally did it loads of times in the past.
Getting a shotgun from a cop car is not script abuse, it is illegal.
Exactly.
The rules state "No Script Abuse", "No Glitch Abuse". Fair enough, simple rules.
But the difficulty comes with interpreting them as an admin.
Personally, for me, this is not abuse in any way and would be illegal - punished by suspection if caught by the police. A minority of admins disagree, or at least did before Gandalf's post in this thread.
There are many things that admins have different policies on, things that are not written in the rules in any way. This is one of them.

Huh? o_o
I thought when I asked you about it, you said:
"When he can get into the police garage and into the car" its not abuse.
Or maybe I understood it wrong, could be, just reminded me on a quote of you.
Sorry if I am wrong.

You have no idea how happy you made me that you posted this. I have been threatened countless times in the past with a report when I was an admin for kicking users for doing this. Countless cops and former fellow admins claimed it was not, when I clearly explain exactly what you just said. Thank you Gandalf. You just put my mind at ease.
-
I think that if it has a roleplay scenerio, it should be suspectable. But if someone just goes from car to car and does it, that's different.

I must admit, I was one who did not know this. I will remember this from now on. However I can state with certainty that such an issue was dealt with in a private forum wherein it was decided that it was not script abuse after some discussion.
Owing to this view I will watch out for people obtaining weapons from cop cars. I used to be of the view that cops could suspect those who took weapons from PD cars as i considered it as roleplay. Regardless, thanks for shedding new light on this.

I never knew if you enter a pd car (As civilian) you get the guns..

bullshit, this script 1st is not made, this 'script' is side effect from single player.

It is still abuse, regardless.
