Title: Need help finding a good Gamer computer (w/ Windows XP!)
Post by: Gregersen on December 27, 2009, 11:09:27 am
Hello guys,
I am sick of my computer and I want to buy a new one.
This one only got 1GB Ram so...
I got a Nvidia GeForce 9500GT Graphiccard in it.

Im looking for a computer wich can run GTA IV, and such games..
- Or let me say it like this, some of the newer games, wich takes pretty much to run!
Im looking to spend like.. maximum 1000$..

You don't want Windows XP mate ... no DX10 or even 11 support! That means you won't be able to play most new games normally. *Removed*. Another thing is - Buy parts of e-bay, it's times less expensive. Then just put it together and voila :O it works.

You can buy a new one at your local PC shop, Windows 7 and nice specs. You can look over in each shop until you find your suitable PC. Or check magazines and newpaper ads, PC's are so cheap now-a-days.

What I'd suggest is buy the cheapest Core i7 PC you can find, then kit it out with a reasonable GPU and some RAM and voila - Gaming PC that can run anything. Unfortunately they don't go that cheap but it's worth it really. As far as the one you've seen is conserned it's going to be allright I think. Please send me a link to check it out and check it's GPU parameters. Just for info the 9500GT isn't a bad card but isn't a very good one either so it's worth to get a better one.

Basically you're dealing with an integrated Video Card which is rubbish. Any luck on ebay? Check it out they got decent machines for a fraction of the cost at a store. The issue with that video card is that so you can install a new one you'll have to open up the case which in most cases is a violation for the insurance policy that means it wont be able to be serviced for free which might be usefull if you're not very good with computers. I've never serviced my computer at a specialized place and I never will so it isn't really a problem. It's still your decision but with that PC I'd suggest a better than a 9500GT Video card.

9500 GT review (http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-9500-gt-review/7)

The way I see it, you just made your video card sucker...

It's a  miracle if that PC will run GTA IV even with medium...
Anyways, the first one you said, sucked even more, as E5300 don't have DDR3 support (meaning it's speed is worthless)..

Core i5, Asus motherboard, Corsair 2x2 Gb, Ati Radeon HD 58xx.. That would be the specs which runs all games, and future games..

Sorry friend, that's a mistake

Btw 1000 MPBS internet means it supports 1000Mbps speed, cause u dont actually get such speed

GTA IV Doesn't require a uber l33t GPU, It's just that it needs a quad core to run without lag

You say the same for Resident Evil 5, because the so called "system requirements" says so?

GTA IV is running great on E5200, which is Dual-Core... No lag, average FPS around 30+..
