I'm getting errors as soon as I click on Argonath RPG.
I have tried this:
http://forum.sa-mp.com/index.php?topic=128228.0 (http://forum.sa-mp.com/index.php?topic=128228.0) which involves changing file name, and I have played with various compatibility settings.
The only way I can get it to work is if I reinstall SA and SAMP, which takes a long time, and it wont work after I restart PC.
So until I get this fixed, I cant come ingame :(

Delete/move your user files folder.

Seems alot having this problem with Win7 32bits, however it runs smooth with 64bits atleast for me..
-
Check if your folder has the 'd3d9.dll' file, if not, download it and place it in Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\

Hehe, this sucks. Im wondering if it has anything to do with the San Andreas version. I have the first version still :(
Seems only way is to install an XP partition, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to bother doing that yet. Seems virtual XP doesn't even want to install properly either.

Go into your C:/Program Files/Rockstar Games (or where ever you keep the GTA SA directory)
Add a "2" to the end of your directory name so it says, "GTA San Andreas" to "GTA San Andreas 2".
Right click your SAMP and/or GTA SA shortcut and in the "target" and "Start in" boxes, add a 2 to the end of "GTA San Andreas" again. (example - Target: "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas 2\samp.exe")
SAMP will say it can't locate your directory and a menu will come up asking you to select the directory. Select the "GTA San Andreas 2" folder.
This ? ;)

I have already tried with different file names. Doesn't work :(

Then I'm afraid you'll need to make a XP partition in order to play :(

Reinstalled on windows 7 using GTA SA 1.01, and game seems to be working fine now.
However, when on SA-MP, it loads up single player instead :S. I click on Argonath RPG. A white screen appears, sometime later followed by the ROckstar logo and spraycan noise. It returns to white then loads up the main menu "Start game" etc...
Any ideas?

Downgrade using a downgrade patch (search on google ;p)
-
Yeah, you most likely need to downgrade it.
http://sa-mp.com/download.php (http://sa-mp.com/download.php) and click on "Version 2.0 of the DVD version can be downgraded to 1.0 using a third-party patch."

After re installing windows 7 it seems to work. I did need to downgrade it (after I had upgraded it lol), and seems to work. So, non the wiser, its ok for now.
