My RL car:

1967 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 390 Police Interceptor with 428 heads
Transmission: Automatic (unfortunately, all old T-birds are)
Rear differentials: 4:10
so it can do a good burn out :D

I also have an 1985 Ford Ranger F-250, but i dont have a pic of it right now :\

I really enjoy driving my father's '89 Mercedes D 200. Yeah not mine :P It looks really cool, is stylish. Interior is comfortable with leather seats. Vehicle is hard to control and drive which is the best speciality of it for me. You know, nothing else gives the feeling of changing the gear from 3 to 4. If i had an ultimate car like a bugatti or something, i'd sell it and buy this Mercedes. I haven't got any pictures with it as i don't like taking pictures of everything i do, but may take one soon.

Well, this one looks same as ours. Same color same model. Nearly the same plate number lol.

Post by: BlackEagle on January 29, 2010, 09:48:43 pm
Well actually that looks like 250 D too, these models looks very similiar to each other. You have to give a look from different angles to confirm :P But i think its D 200.

Post by: BlueFox on January 29, 2010, 10:20:27 pm
u see my car.. its a 1.4 :P

and the fastest my dad has driven it is 103mph in gear 5, thats good for a polo right?
its also rare to find someone going at that speed, goverment nowadays put speed camras everywhere.

yeah, thats pretty good, my dad's 89 GMC Sierra can do 140 KM/H in third gear, it is a 5 gear standard, but where we live, there is no where to get a vehicle going that fast before there is a corner from all the mountains lol

but that truck can burn rubber everytime you shift, it has a 390 V8 which has been modified

I dont have a picture of it though :\

I guess I should list off all the Vehicles my family owns lol

My cars:
1967 Ford Thunderbird
1985 Ford Ranger F-250

My parent's cars:
1989 GMC Sierra (probably going to be mine)
1997 Pontiac Sunfire

Other vehicles we own:
1965 Anchor (boat)
1975 Reinell (another boat)
1992 Harley Davidson Sportster
(like 4 more bikes i dont feel like naming off)

Next July I'll be allowed to drive, once I have passed my driving exam, I am hoping to get this car.

Another old shape Mercedes E-Class, they are quite cheap over here, but one generation after the one that I said looks similar to Eagle's one.

why does a 12 year old need a car ?
Title: Re: General Vehicle discussion.

why does a 12 year old need a car ?

it's more of not that we need a car at a young age, it's just that our parents just give them to us young, actually, alot of people where i live get cars at a young age.

I have had my T-bird since before I was born (my dad was planning to give it to his son)

this summer, Im planning to start working on that T-bird and get it running again

and I got my ranger a few years ago, it was one of my parent's friend's truck. the rear differentials broke on it infront of our house so the friend gave it to my parents, and my parents pretty much said "If you can fix it, you can keep it."

so i replaced the rear differentials in it and i got to keep the truck.

got it from copart auction (its a place where they bid on crashed cars), it had some problems with it like rear and front fender damage, passager door damage, fucked up tire, trunk lock was broken, rear window didnt go up or down, and some issues with engine "check engine" glows in gauges... fixed it all now.

Dude, same here. A lot of Russians get their cars from Copart or any other Auction site. In Colorado, we have Klode.com. We got most of our cars from there(Except the Honda Odyssey, we bought that brand new, and my Infiniti which we bought from a private dealer).

My car has a few issues, nothing major.
The Struts are fucked up, needs an oil change, new fan, and a mirror knob, it was broken off. Other then that, it runs great. I am glad my parents bought me this car. Best 16th birthday present. Bose, leather seats, sunroof, aluminum rims, never been smoked in. Amazing.

God, you lucky bastard  The car I got from my grandpa was a 1971 Vaz 2101 Jiguli ( later called a lada because it sounds like the word jigolo). That thing really needed a work-over. Only thing that's stock on it is the chrome. None of the other pannels are the same - every single crease and edge has been refined with the help of my uncle who's a real pro at bodywork and sheet metal. The engine has been bored out to 1.3, then we swapped the block for one off a Lada Niva which will be swapped for a BMW 320i E46 complete with the transmision and rear axle when I find enough time and get home, till then the car is in a friend of mine's garage. I'll try to make him take pics. ( I'm in the UK now, I used to live in Bulgaria)

My dad used to own a Lada Niva like 10 years ago.It was a nice car, good handling but they are old fashioned now anyways
Title: Re: General Vehicle discussion.
Post by: Todor on February 10, 2010, 05:08:37 pm
The Niva revolutionised the way SUV's looked, they don't have to be big and heavy, I mean the Niva's biggest engine is the 1.7(later bored to 1.8 stock). Still, it can get you where you can't walk on your own.

Lol guys, joe forgot to mention:
He struggles to change gear, so could not get those cars to go that speed.
I was the one who hit those speeds in the cars:

Justy - 37mph, smelt funny (overheats very easy  xD)
Metro - 39mph, nearly killed myself (there is an electric fence and I nearly went into it)

Joe can confirm it was me who got the airfield record! (previous was 35mph in a Justy, done by a 40 yr old, and i am 14  xD)
Title: Re: General Vehicle discussion.
Post by: Julio. on March 17, 2010, 08:46:23 pm
my records were 35mph in justy and 37mph in metro, and i can change gear grr

he did almost go into the fence, he came back like 5mph shitting himself saying 'bloody hell, I'm not doing that again'   lol

I also think he broke the suspension on the metro, as it was sunk right down at the front O_o  lol

What are you looking for? A saloon with a big boot and lots under the bonnet or a sexy looking coupe? Well both of those can be answered and guaranteed by me as an awesome car : The Peugeot 406 - The beautiful coupe version was designed by Pinifarina the man himself - the guy who's behind the Ferrari 355. I'd go for either the huge diesels or the 3.0 V6. As far as handling is conserned both the coupe and saloon versions are one of the best cars I've ever driven and I mean it. Plus they're on the cheap side but the insurance may prove a problem with the 3.0 V6's... I gotta say I really was impressed the first time I drove the saloon and the coupe's even better. The 406's basically never rust. There's a lot of other common problems with them, though  :( The whole electrical system suffers from major flaws as it is french. I wouldn't recommend the 1.8 petrols because they find the car too heavy (which it is) and they're a bit sluggish. The 2 litre petrols are quite complicated to work your way through but changing the glow plugs on a 1.9 diesel is a nightmare...
The coupe:

Earlier Saloon(I think they're better built and the newer HDi diesels are ridiculous..):

Yeah, I bought my dad a 2.0 petrol a couple of days ago. 98 GLX Saloon. They're awesome. He used to drive a 2.2 DTi before but some moron bumped in the back of him sending him into a spin and into some roadside bushes...

Metro's too small and soft for me (That's what she said) and the Justy is just way too ugly

Aint gonna work.

I need rust on my car, man. Lots of it.

Nah but as for the visuals I wasn't looking for such a smooth ride like the 406. I want something a little bit more boxier and.. raw, if you'd like... Can't really explain this but I got a thing for 80's coupe and saloons as many people today think are somewhat hideous.

I don't know if I'm going to "tyskstuka" my first car or just let it be original...

The german (tysk=german, stuk=style) people sure knows how to style their cars.. Don't you think?

Both cars are tyskstukade and fucking awesome

I am indeed a huge fan of boxy looking cars, here's a pic of a beauty I fell in love with:
It has more of a boxy feel compared to the smooth lines of the stock. I like it. But I don't like it as much as this one:
Just beautiful. If I didn't bother with white alloy wheels, halogen lights and a 1.8  :( You can see how I've ruined it on page 3 or 4

Good design, shite interior and mechanics. The engine itself is in production for over 30 years now and hasn't changed much.

Just had an idea for Tiderman! What about an original Scirocco?
With a set of lower springs and shocks, tighter anti roll bars and a punchier VR6 engine this puppy will be just what you're looking for. Or maybe not? Like the original Ford Capri? I'd opt for a Mk2 one like this one here:
