Title: Texting while Driving - not a good idea
Post by: BlueFox on January 31, 2010, 02:50:15 am
It's a stupid thing to do, so why do people do it?

Just recently, on the first of January, British Columbia (my province of Canada) just passed a law making it illegal to drive with any electronic device in your hand, and I support this law 100%.

WARNING: This video is graphic!!

Texting While Driving is Deadly!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDb-15hAtxY&NR=1#)

It is proven that texting as you drive is worse than drunk driving.

I know that we are all getting older and starting to drive, or are already driving, but please, don't be stupid and text as you drive. I'm begging you.

Well over here in the UK, if you are caught using your phone while driving the police will pull you over and might issue you a fine.

It's true.

If it's so damn important that you must reply to the text immediatly just pull over, stop and reply

Simple solution, Dont Text or SMS w/e while driving unless you have a good knowledge of your phone and dont need to look at it while typing...

Also, if youre talking on the phone, just connect it to the cars system so you can use the car system to hear them and the mic on the phone for them to hear you without needing to hold the phone when driving.. simple.  ;)

One of my mother's friends was recently in jail for manslaughter. He was driving a little recklessly in the road, swerving, and got in an accident with two people from the U.K, just visiting. They unfortunately had both died. It's a fucking miracle that he even survived, and even made a full recovery. Although this wasn't from texting, it just shows that texting while driving will just triple your chances of crashing. Don't fucking do it. If you do, you're retarded.

Yeah, what happened to the good olde calling (people)?
I guess AmazingAtheist said it well when he said this is the age of disconnection and connection. People don't look eachother in the eyes, all we do is write to eachother in text messages and online but in that way we can reach people all over the world...

Now theres a song with autotune on the radio. I'm pissed.

More then 90% of the people here are too young to even drive so i dont see the point of making this topic.

Because they are going to get older and start driving, and it is better to teach them young before they learn the hard way.

by hard way i mean either losing a good friend, hospital for ever, or maybe even death.
