K, I searched world war 2 to look at funny Hitler and how he has like, all position's for political and war shit.
I than searched world war 1 on wikipedia to see what the german's were called in WW1, until I noticed that only Europe (and a bit of africa) was attacked. I searched world war 3 in confusion of world war 1 and noticed it says:
This is the first known instance of the term First World War, which previously had been dated to 1931 for the earliest usage. The term was used again near the end of the war. English journalist Charles A. Repington (1858)
They chose the name World War 1 because of the originality and the liking, not for it was a war that the whole world reacted to(apparently to my mother).
I believe it wasn't a world war and doesn't deserve to be known as that since the first world war was in Europe and the 2nd was kinda around Japan.
-
the 2nd was kinda around Japan.
wat
-
Almost every country in the world was fighting in WW2, not so sure about WW1.
-
WWI was generally fought by the Triple Entent (England, France, Russia) and the Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy). However, countries such as Japan, for example, entered the war due to... well, because their fortune cookie said to do so. Nah, because of their war honour with Britain - or something along those lines. So, quite generally the world was at war.
-
if it's called world war, the WHOLE world would be at war, and they chose the name world war due to the awesomness of the title and so people can remember it.
-
It was originally called "The Great War" due to the fightings in Europe during 1914-18. When another "great war" came around in the 1930s-40s they decided to rename the first war "World War 1" And this one WW2.

They call it the 'World War' due to the fact that, whether all participated in it or not, it generally affected the ENTIRE world.

Yeah I bet football players in Brazil were highly affected by this.

Not really.

Morlan playing COD doesn't make you fluent in history
-
Not really.
Well, it certainly effected the entire planet dramatically.

I don't play COD much, I play MOH but I don't go, oh, so that's what happened in the war and believe it straight away and say that's exactly what happened.

But you said the almost every country in the world were FIGHTINGin WW2. That's a big difference from just being "effected".

Which countries were actually fighting or helping out in the war?
-
You don't realise that even "neutral" countries supplied war goods to countries such as the UK and Germany...This leads to them being in the war, but at the same time not in the war..
-
But you said the almost every country in the world were FIGHTINGin WW2. That's a big difference from just being "effected".

Don't abuse the topic name, MorlanV...
Why are you laughing at the fact about how many countries are involved, when YOU ACTUALLY CREATED the topic asking about it?
-
To have more info about the world war because people think I don't actually know about the whole thing.
