Okay, since I got this issue of Windows 7 not booting, I'm stuck with Linux, but that's another story!!
So uhh yeah, I miss San Andreas (and borrowed San Andreas for PS2 to a friend...) and SA:MP and I want to play it. I've installed GTA:SA with WINE and Gmount-iso (to mount ISOs), and executed GTA:SA with WINE... guess what??
Black screen fading to white, then white screen PERMANENTLY stays there!! Only way out: ctrl+alt+esc
YES, I got the no-cd crack in there, how would I run the game without it?
I tried reinstalling countless times, configurated all the possible ways in WINE Configuration, did every solution and prob. much more.
What the hell should I do? DDDDDDDD:
My WINE version is 1.0.1

Video card drivers?

I had this a while ago, I re installed WINE and it worked, but I think I had a different problem to what you have.

I don't think I installed any yet for my aTI Radeon HD 4870. I don't think there are any for Ubuntu...

How do I reinstall WINE?

Go to the Programs section, (Under Applications I think), then Fund WINE, there should be an option there, but Im not 100% sure this works, I haven't used my ubuntu computer in a year.

Did you tried to patch the game to 1.0?
