Title: Dust or death?
Post by: Leon_Mokomaki on March 19, 2010, 02:05:28 pm
Okay so i wonder whats causing my cpu to be so angry. But never before has it started to moan louder( Obviously heating easier and fan automaticly taking action ). So this usually happens when my computer has been on for 2 days or more. But now. Ive only been on my computer for like a few hours. And now my cpu fan started to moan really loud. But it stops after a while of course when it thinks its cold enough. But im not sure is this because my computer is dusty? So its overheating? Or is my cpu just becoming old and wrinkly and going to die?. I vacuum clean my computer like once every 2 weeks or so. Sooooo... not sure if its dusty. But ill clean it today anyway.

download a program called speedfan 4.40 it will tell you your fan speeds and if anything is overheating you will need to search your stuff though for what it is for overheating cause it is set for default

i will post a link if you need me to also check your CPU fan open up the side of you computer while it is running and see if the fan is running properly

a cpu is like a woman, you must slap hit and hit until it stops moaning and makes pancakes for you instead.

search your processor normal operating temperatures in google, my processor, amd athlon, for a laptop, when it's idle, it is about 55 celcius, but that is normal for it

My CPU went from quiet to very loud in circa 3 weeks. It had collected a shitload of dust. Just open your box up and look at the CPU. If it's dusty, clean it. If not, tell us.

Just buy some tools and make a complete clean-up. It will be helpful.
