Title: Update forum moderators
Post by: BlankTheGod on March 26, 2010, 02:00:24 am
I was unsure where to put this, please move if neccicary. But the forum moderators have changed from what are displayed.

For example: SA:MP General admins are Razor, Marc & Gimli, but Cutter has been editing post here, also ive scene in the Unban section, many other admins than the ones displayed have been working those forums.

Also, admins such as Kojak from SA:MP unban request seems to only be active in VC:MP forums.

It would just be helpfull to know whos on patroll and whos not.

Anyone with a manager or higher rank can modify, lock or delete any topic. Therefore the moderators for the SA:MP unban request section are all SA:MP managers with the addition of Aragorn, Gandalf, Kojak and MIB. There were plans to change the forum moderators after the admin restructure in November, but I don't know how that is coming along as previously anyone without ingame admin rights was not allowed to be a forum moderator. In addition, we have three webmasters, Daniel, Agent and Tai.

Violet is right to the extent that any Manager+ can edit/lock almost any post on forums.
The reason why a manager may act although he is not  a forum mod, is in the larger interest. A forum mod may not be available at that time and hence the manager concerned can use his rights to edit a topic.
Regarding unbans, a SA:MP manager can decide on unbans. This is why I edit/lock the posts or unbans on which I decide. May not have forum rights for that section but that does not curtail my work in any way.

Furthermore

It would just be helpfull to know whos on patroll and whos not.

Why?
An upto date list of who to forum PM in the case of a particular question or report to a moderator of a certain field.

A forum mod may not be available at that time and hence the manager concerned can use his rights to edit a topic.
Example today when Matute locked a topic in Speakerbox and wrote "inb4giaccomes"
-_-

Btw, only those who are displayed as Forum Moderators will get Moderator status in that board, regardless of their other forum rank.

In-Game administrators should get a moderator right on all boards related to their administration, except the unban request section, of course.

That would be a lot of Moderators, and I do believe that we already have almost enough Moderators in this Forum. O_o

I think managers or + can remove, lock, move and many more thing to topic and posts moderator is a person that can make all kind of this stuff just in one board where he is a moderator.

Also, admins such as Kojak from SA:MP unban request seems to only be active in VC:MP forums.

Kojak isn't active in VC:MP forum, I doubt if he has even posted in that section since he returned to Argonath. :trust:

I moderate SAMP groups, I don't need to be an admin to be able to do that properly.
We can do anything that the person who posted a post can do to it, with the addition of topic removal/locking/moving.

He means this panda

Ironically we can do it on any board

Does ANYONE get  a picture to the left of the words "Moderator Comment"

Nice error though, to imply "MY RED X, I have ATHORATAAAY", catches a readers attention.
Why?

So we know who to avoid..

Kidding ofcorse..   :hit:
