Title: House Re - Valuation
Post by: newton on March 31, 2010, 09:45:14 pm
Ok , With the new re valuation i know owe the bank $125k which in my opinion isn't right.

im guessing im not the only one in the server in which there house has increased in value you now owe the bank money.

IRL if i was to purchase a house for lets say 100k and due to the market or what ever happens it increases prices. the bank does not turn around and say i owe them money. it our profit that we make and we should keep it.

that my opinion and no dont know what everyone else thinks.

I still don't think it's fair to take money away from players, as it's not our fault the property system was mucked up.

I consider Argonath a sort of country, it has rules, leaders, laws and citizens.
People live, fight, love, cry, moan, and play.

I don't feel it's right that the leadership of our country can take our money from us
due to a mistake that was made by them in the first place, which we are now paying for.

It doesn't seem fair to punish us for something we've not done, so why is this going on?
Why not add the extra value to the house, but not take money from the current owner.. but when they sell, they recieve
the previous value with nothing added?
Why cripple accounts by sending players into debt through no fault of there own?

Argonath wasn't communist, so why make it so.

Technically you didn't lose anything...
Technically you didn't lose anything...

Technically they did.
They lost the ability to use any money to purchase anything whatsoever without paying back
the stupid loan they were given through no fault of there own.

Sell the house then? And think about it... By telling ''it is not fair'' what is you intention on that? Getting it all reversed? Getting your money back? Think about it... Is that  really going to happen?...

It's apparent Argonath....has fallen to communism.

We should have an alternative to going into negatives and selling our houses. We didn't inflict this upon ourselves, we
merely played the game.

Talking to a social setting about what people think is not right is how change occurs. If people voice their opinions on the new housing system, it can be changed to accommodate everyone as a group. So yes, there is a possibility ho could get his money back.

If I lose my house I lose alot of money, If I keep my house I lose alot of money.

I don't see how I inflicted this on myself, so someone please help me understand
how this is helping the community... apart from making the property prices look good.

It had to happen, or should they set it once you sold your house?

My solution is simple, and pain-free.

Solution :

They bump up the price to $5mil or whatever it's going to be.
Though, I don't pay the extra $4mil, it just appears, and when I
sell the property I recieve the 1mil I paid for it back.. and not the extra.

No pain, no gain, no loss, no moan.

Admins could simply remove the houses from you due to lack of money, but they decided not to, by taking all the cash avaliable in your account and putting in the value.
No, you don't lose any cash - maybe the buyout. I've lost 2m under a house I've bought, and it's now removed - Fair, since It's not a place for a house, but you don't see me crying over it :).
This new property system was good in general, maybe destructive to some, but in general, was good.
This will popularize another cities, not only Los Santos, since SF's properties are 40% cheaper than Los Santos.
Unlike some of you think, this will NOT bring 'communism' in argonath, but it will make  things fair...
People has been paying 400,000.00 on a skycraper, making them forget about another simply houses over the rest, they were WAY too cheap. This will also make such locations as Grove St, East LS, SF, LV, etc... populated, since they have cheap houses.
Giving a chance to everyone who ever wished to own a big-ass mansion to buy one, after hard-working.
Now, instead of buying great mansions, paying over 3,000,000.00 on a house, players will not worry about making profit in buying big houses, since the value will be like a buyout.
I've seen many players desesperate to sell his house, when they had paid ALOT for the buyout, they didn't want the house no more, they wanted to buy a new one which they like the most, as everyone, this player didn't want to lose cash. - I'm sure most of you already beeing in this kinda situation, as I've been too :) - Hope this gone, with this re-valuation.

Regards.

Even strict RP has a bit of fantasy.
