Title: New Amp
Post by: Joey_DeRossi on April 04, 2010, 12:07:44 am
Hello, fellas!
During this last month I have returned to my old Pacifica and decided to compose for a while. Unfortunately I feel I can no longer keep up with my current, and old, amp. Therefore, and considering that I do not want to spend more than 100 euros on a amp...

Peavey Vypyr 15
vs
Roland Cube 15

I've been reading plenty of reviews and I cannot even distinguish which one is the best one. Therefore I'd like to hear from your side, which one do you feel it's best.
If you have played in any of those that I mentioned, please, write a small review on it, if you don't mind. :)

Genres:
Blues and Rock, mainly. Classic once in a while.

The Peavey Vypyr 15 has a lot of effects and the presets which are awesome, but it has a lower quality speaker and it sounds more digital. The Roland Cube 15 is a popular & trusted brand known for it's sound quality but it has less effects so it really depends, if you're going to be using all the effects and features on the Peavey or just want a good quality sound on the roland, personally, I would get the Roland Cube since I have a line 6 POD 2.0 for effects  :D

Either way, they are both great amps :)

Hey, Luca.

Yes, that's what I've been reading:
- Peavey has far more effects than the Cube;
- I've read reviews where the Cube's distortion sound is cleaner and others where the Peavey one is;
- "" "" Roland/Peavey has more of a digital sound.

Spending a whole afternoon by reading reviews left me pretty much confused. All I know is:
- Roland is a well known brand. There's no doubt on its quality.
- Peavey is a revelation, capable of competing with Roland.

Considering that I don't want to pass the 100 euros, guess I'll stick with the Peavey, as it has more effects and I don't feel like spending more money on purchasing a pedal.
Will have to re-read some reviews. :)

LOL!  :lol:  :rofl:

I know Peavey are good amps plus you could always get a better quality speaker to fit to it.
