Title: Modding problem
Post by: Hidduh on April 27, 2010, 06:52:15 pm
When I try to install a skin using IMGtool (I replaced the right files --> re-building) it doesn't show the modded skin, but only the original.. Help? D:

Could be..

Also, I rename the files before replacing (example dsher2.dff instead of replacing), could that cause a problem? (Just asking, I dunno anything about modding :x)

I tried replacing, still shows the basic skins.

Umm, you know, if you did not have correct file selected, then that is the problem.

You need to select dsher.dff from the gta3.img, then replace.

Right now, you probably replaced the first file in the gta3.img

What I usually do:
Open IMG Tool
Open GTA3
Search for the skin I want to replace
Extract to a map
Go to the map, rename the ORIGINAL .txd and .dff to anything to make sure I know it's not the modded one
Go back to IMG Tool (did not close)
Replace the original files for the modded ones
Press the red [X] to close

Run SA:MP and it works.

You need to rebuild archive or it will just be f**ked up.

By the way, try Alci's IMG Editor - great, fast, easy

Never do that, and my mods work like a charm :)
