Title: Major computer issue
Post by: SafetyMoose on May 28, 2010, 12:39:45 am
Alright so I was playing GTA:SA on singleplayer yesterday and my PC just turned off for no reason, I re-booted it and then everytime it passed the windows green loading bar, a black screen comes ip and nothing happens.

I booted it in safe mode abd tried to restore to previouse deafaults.... No success, I tries removing a program I added a few minutes before te crash and the. Restarted.

Now my PC just keeps re-starting after the Dell Bios loads and I can't even get to the safe mode setting. I tried to do a full system restore bit when I selected that option from the maintanence menu and hit accept, the PC would restarted like nothing happed.

I can't afford a new computer at this time and I hope someone here has an answer

:D

PC Specs:

OS: Vista, 32 bit
Make: Dell dimension C521
hard drive: 70 gb
backup drive: 10 gb
ramm: 2 gb
Age: almost 3 years

OH, You got a worm virus :). I've had that experience, playing GTA:Sa then suddenly shut down, My computer has been 5 years from me ;), I take good care. Well, All I did was reformatting my CPU :P. Hope that should be done, if you can't reformat it, Try contacting a PC Engineer.

There is absolutely no way CPU to overheat before windows loads and CPU gets some load. Believe me, I've used PC and forgot to plug CPU Fan wire :p

If your PC reboots BEFORE windows loading screen, it is hardware failure.. If it reboots in/after windows loading screen, you have a software problem/virus..

Reformatting CPU is not possible, I guess you mean formating Hard Drive.

Another note, when your PC starts, take notes of the 'beep(s)' it makes, sometimes it can dictate different problems. This is documented here. (http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm)

dude you forgot something :P you can turn of the overheating warn from the bios
now to safetymoose do the following:
1-turn on the PC and put your ear near the hard disk if you hear an hard disk ticking means your hard disk is failing
2-your PC turned off while formatting ?? try to remove the RAM's then plug then in or change them it will be better
3-put your hand on the fan while the PC is turning on and check if there is any wind going out
4-can you copy me the things written on the black screen :)
