Title.
So basically I have this annoying executable that keeps executing itself, and then 1 hour later it closes and starts again, repeat.
There's no problem in having an .exe that is running constantly and does not give any system difference (slow-downs, etc) but the ONLY problem it has that timebomb on it.
I've heard that programs that stop the executions of others exist but I don't have any names, so I can't get them.
If there isn't any program, is there any Windows Script for it? You know, the ones you make with notepad?
(No it isn't a virus or spyware or a automatic-start-after-boot and is not the Genuine Advantage thingy)
Regards.

Tried Scheduled tasks?

have you tried
Task Manager and searching for the .exe file
and ending the process?

Well Vance, when I close the program or even kill the process, it just opens up again.

well, i had a virus and i read on a website that i had to end the process.
and i did it, and every 5 minutes it would pop up again. but i kept ending it, until 4 or 5 days later the virus was gone, idk how, or why, it was just gone. just keep ending the process

I've heard of that virus. Pull your computer apart and rip the hard drive out and smash it. They're tracking every move you make and every password you enter. You're fucked.

squeak why do you have to be so Fucking Mexican?!
calm down boldie.
-
I'm serious, go grab a magnet and run it over your hard drive.
-
It's not a virus.
-
then what is it? Grovyle just dont give up, when i had this virus, i looked all over the net. to solve it, and it just went away.
google it, and find websites that help you, search for it on YouTube.
you'll find a solution. i know how frustrating it is, i hated it.

If you are using windows XP, go to 'run' and run the program msconfig.exe
If you are using Windows Vista or 7, use the 'search programs and files" function to open msconfig.exe.
Once you opened this application, go to the 'startup' TAB. Now look for the program that you'd like to have disabled and uncheck the box in front of it. Save the changes and close msconfig.
Restart your computer now and see if this worked out for you.
