Title: "The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: id_search"
Post by: Trobby888 on August 26, 2010, 11:07:47 am
Whenever I use the search tool to search for something in this forum, I always get the error "The database value you're trying to insert does not exist: id_search", no matter what keywords I put in. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem too. :S

It happens when you type just a single word or too short search term.

Wierld, I've always typed in single words in the past to search for things and I never came across this error before. I tested words such as "hello", "test", "Welcome", "does it" and they don't seem to be working properly :S.

I also noticed that when you type something with 2 characters or less, it would pop up with a message saying "your search is too short". I'm sure that if there is a check like that, then an error message like this shouldn't pop up in normal cases.

Tried doing the search again just now. It seems like it sometimes work and then sometimes it doesn't. I typed "developers" about 2 minutes ago, then tried again the exact same word 30 seconds ago and then something normal popped up instead (Except there wasn't any results displayed). :S:S:S:S:S

It'd be great if we could get single word searching to work again, since the majority of things I need to search, require me to use a single word, and trying to add arbitrary terms just to get the search working isn't very efficient, not to mention that you can very easily miss posts that way.

Seems at the moment it must be over 3 letters.

"bob" returns the error. "bob1" and "bob2" search fine.

No the error is still there even when searching for pretty obvious things for example " Argonath " "Unban" etc.
