Title: Issue with IVMP Update + 1.0.7.0
Post by: Devin on August 30, 2010, 12:09:44 pm
I saw that we are now running the new client and the updated GTA IV Update 1.0.7.0

When I installed 1.0.7.0 and then IVMP it seemed to be alright but when I clicked on LaunchIVMP.exe it opens Social Club for some reason:

If I click on Play or Play(Offline) It does nothing...

And when I click on GTAIV.exe I get this issue:

So I reinstalled GTA IV with a clean copy, installed 1.0.7.0 and then the new IVMP Client and still the same issue.

I got several PMs of people with the "The ordinal 587...". Do you use xliveless? That small dll extension that disables GFW Live.
Do a fresh install, because now its not possible to the the next trick. Then install 1.0.7.0 and correct client which is:

http://files.iv-multiplayer.co.uk/beta/ (http://files.iv-multiplayer.co.uk/beta/) ( 5th on the list), then try running it as administrator as I see you have Win7. If the administrator rights don't work out, try setting different compatibility modes, like Win XP SP3.

Alright thanks for the help, and I am currently running it in administrator because I had the issue with IVMP not opening on the old client.

I thought so to, but if you do the right click and "Run as administrator" it works. Although you are already an admin. That's weird.

Did a fresh install and Social Club still opens when I click on LaunchIVMP, so now what?

Seem to have fixed the issue now.

In case you haven't fixed it; I see you're running on Windows 7. Tried running as Administrator?

Running as an administrator through the right-click menu is like the equal to using the root account on Linux. It's basically an elevated administrative level that is higher than a standard administrator account.

LaunchGTAIV.exe to run SP GTA:IV
LaunchIVMP.exe to start IV:MP

on IV:MP you need to click on Play (Offline)

Fixed already though!
