Title: ATI Radeon HD5830
Post by: Jack Bauer on September 20, 2010, 04:54:04 pm
Hi,

I'm building myself a new PC and I can't decide wether to get the ASUS or Sapphire version of the Radeon HD5830 1Gb GDDR5

I got 2 screens to connect to it.
I might want to overclock my VGA card.
My new PC has a good airflow inside it's case.

Sapphire (http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?leg=&psn=000101&pid=323)  203.98 Euro
ASUS (http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=M12ezvZQvbHlsCxF&templete=2)      188.95 Euro

If you want to get best bang for bung on the market right now for 200EUR, go for the GTX460, beat's 5830's ass in all (practically) games and still has a better cooling. Go for the 1GB and 256-bit version from either Sparkle (heard it has the best cooler on the market for 460) or Gigabyte. And from the same forums it has been noticed that some versions of the 460 will go past even HD5850 with little of overclocking.

Article reviews different manufacturer's versions of GTX460 and the original HD5830.

Even though... EyeInfinity... your choice.
