About these forum ranks.
I was told they are based on how long you've been registered on the forum. If so, why is someone who registered in December 2009 a Veteran, and I registered July 2009 and I am a regular?

1. Incorrect place to post this.
2. I'm pretty sure its not based on how long you've been registered...

I didn't know whwere to post this, sorry :P
I am pretty sure it is no longer based on post count.
About your point 2 - it was annoyingme, I just wanted to know

The forum ranks were changed to how long a member has been logged in for.
More information from Gandalf in the link below.

Thanks, now I move oto the question Alarba asked.
What length of time do you need to have been on the forum for each rank? :o
-
The forum ranks are based on the time you spend actively present on forums. Leaving your browser open without actions will not help. :D
As for the time spent, I wil not disclose it. By checking profiles you might find it.

I don't think normal forum members can check how long a person has actIvely been on the forum.

Total time logged in: 66 days, 3 hours and 39 minutes.
Also I'm pretty sure that's reset a couple times in the past few years for no apparent reason.
-
Total time logged in: 23 days, 15 hours and 23 minutes.

I have 9 days, 12 hours and 12 minutes
that shows me how much time I do spend on here instead of doug coursework.

As I have 43 days and I am hero while romeo has 36 days and is a veteran we can deduct that the point, when somebody gets hero status is between 36 and 43 days. Now knowing that most people like round numbers I would say 40 days logged in gives you hero status in forums.

* Total time logged in: 21 days, 8 hours and 28 minutes.
I think that if you want to become a forum Veteran, the limit is 20 hours :devroll:

As some levels allow tampering with parameters like posts and time online, during maintenance it is recalculated to the correct values. ;)

I am one who does not care about ranks.
Really, I see it more important of how good and respectable an player are then some postcounts or an "veteran" rank on forums.
Just because someone has x time logged in or x ammount of posts does not = not "veteran" or not "experienced".
(EDIT: I read Gandalf post and I have been outmatched since I understand the reason for the system, still. I ask you to read this post and understand why the formula I posted are invalid to judge someone with and instead judge them with the formula below the first one.)
Just as I disagree with the "rank the person above" since it's just insulting in my opinion.
People are equal, not different.
Of course it can say things about how experienced people are, but I have seen people with postcounts totaling over 2k or more who act like shitty little kids who cries to admins or act way below "veteran". Therefor:
T = Time logged in
P = Postcount
D = Date registered on forums
Ex = Experience
R = Respect
T + P + D = Ex = R
Is invalid in my eyes.
I'd rather judge my respect to someone based on thier values of friendly behaviour and will to help and enjoy the server than the above formula.

Well said Girder.
For instance, you have someone has is not respected, breaking rules, but they have spent A LOT of time on the forums, they would be a higher rank? :S
