Avast version is 30 days for trying, but you can get free license. Read the site yo :P Using it for some years.

I always pit two antiviruss on.

For example, AVG and Bitdefender

bitdefender is allegedly the most effective antivirus, and slows down your computer the least.

Avast comes also in a fully free version... (you just have to register via your email)

I've used AVG for ages now, and it has actually found a lot of sh!t over time, so I would recommend it.

Each AntiVirus is different

BitDefender has found things AVG hasn't, and AVG has found things BitDefender hasn't.

Avast made my PC like 20 times slower so I uninstalled it and enjoyed the speed :)
I got no antivirus now but I don't mind :)

Amaru, that again depends on the PC - which all are individual.

I suggest getting Malware Bytes, the free version does not automatically pick up things when you download them etc. It is worth the money buying the full version of the program.

Avira + Spybot is quite a safe little combo. Light and never been any trouble.
